Later, it is revealed that Hanako is a boy. She eventually became spiritually bound to Hanako Consequently, she became his assistant to destroyed evil spirits. They together embarked upon the adventure of maintaining a balance between the world of spirits and humans. In this adventure, Yashiro came to know about her connection to the spirit world. She also found out the dark secrets about Hanako and his past.
