It’s a new movie about World War II called Operation Mincemeat. It tells the true story of how the Allies tricked the Nazis into thinking they were going to attack Greece instead of Sicily. The script is based on Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book of the same name. It tells the story of the titular operation.

How Real Is the Story of the Man Who Never Was?

It was in January 1943, when the Allied victory in North Africa was close, that Allied planners decided to move on to the Italian island of Sicily as the next target for operations Mincemeat. The invasion was set for no later than July of that year. If you think about it, Sicily was an obvious target.

British intelligence tried to make Hitler and the Nazi High Command think that the next Allied targets were Greece, the islands of Sardinia and Corsica, and Italy.

When Will Operation Mincemeat Be Released?

Movie theatres in the UK and the US will show Operation Mincemeat starting on May 6, 2022. It will also be shown on Netflix in May. It’s one of the best new movies out in 2022.

Who Is in the Cast of Operation Mincemeat?

As a Naval Intelligence Officer, Colin Firth is at the top of the cast. As Jean Leslie, Kelly Macdonald plays him, as does Matthew Macfadyen as Charles Cholmondeley, Penelope Wilton as Hester Leggett, Johnny Flynn as James Bond author Ian Fleming, Lorne MacFadyen as Roger Dearborn, and Jason Isaacs as John Godfrey, a naval officer who works for the British Royal Navy.
