There are few outlaws as well known as Billy the Kid. His brief existence was littered with crime and bloodshed, but he is typically idealized in tales of thrilling gunfights and daring eludes. Young Guns, starring Emilio Estevez as Billy, was a notable example of this trend in the late 1980s and early 1990s. When the young criminal first joins The Regulator posse in the late 1800s, the film follows him through his involvement in the Lincoln County War.
Two years later, “Young Guns 2” was released. Brushy Bill Roberts (played by an uncredited Estevez), one of the many persons who claimed to be Billy the Kid in the early 20th century, despite the outlaw’s official death in 1881, tells the story of Billy’s post-Lincoln Country War activities.
“Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid” appears to be the next chapter in the “Young Guns” series. The release date, actors, and story of the film are all still up in the air. What we do know so far regarding “Guns 3” is as follows.
Are There Any Plans for Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid to Be Released Soon?
“Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid” has yet to receive an official release date announcement. Emilio Estevez, the franchise’s star, said in a March 2021 interview with Collider that a third film is “certainly in the works.” Other than that, the film’s production has been kept under wraps.
According to the latest information, “Guns 3” is currently being developed. The writer of “Young Guns,” John Fusco, teased a reunion with Estevez in a January 2021 tweet. The IMDb page for “Gun 3″ as of September 2021 appears to confirm that the two are co-writing the series’ third installment. This late-blooming third installment in the Guns franchise is difficult to predict due to the lack of information about the film’s development. A release date can’t be predicted because no filming dates have been disclosed and no studio or distributor has joined the project.
Guns 3” could launch before the end of 2022 if it obtains momentum by the 3 August 2022 and has rapid manufacturing next year. It’s also possible that the picture will take longer to make and be released than previously thought. However, after 30 years of waiting, a few more don’t seem excessive.
Who Plays Alias Billy the Kid in Guns 3: Alias Billy?
Studio of the 20th Century
The cast of “Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid” is intriguing. Several cowboys from the prior two films appear to be ready to ride again. Billy the Kid (Emilio Estevez), Dave Rudabaugh (Christian Slater), and Jose Chavez y Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips) appear to be returning to the Regulator’s posse in “Guns 3” (per IMDb). According to Forbes in 2021, Phillips has already had discussions about returning to the “Guns 3” cast, and it appears that he’s already confirmed his commitment.
We’re eager to see how these three actors will bring back their memorable “Young Guns” personas because they are the only confirmed cast members. The actors from “Youthful Guns 2,” which came out in 1990, are clearly not the young lads they once were after more than three decades on the big screen. Despite the fact that the original Regulators are more than capable of returning, “Guns 3” would have to come up with a tale to justify focusing on them. This could indicate that the story takes place during the end of the Wild West’s heyday, which ended around the turn of the century.
The Story of Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid Is Still a Mystery.
In terms of the plot of “Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid,” we don’t know anything at this stage. Estevez, in an interview with Collider in March, did hint at the broad strokes of a potential “Guns 3” scenario. The actor collaborated in the project “Playing the Kid is a lot of fun. What transpired in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, in 1881 is the subject of much debate. Is he dead now? Didn’t he say that? When it comes to that brand, there are a lot of legendary and historical as well as some true elements that we may look into.”
The working subtitle for the picture, “Alias Billy the Kid,” could also be a clue to the plot. Brushy Bill Roberts, who claimed to be Billy the Kid long after the general public had concluded that he had died, is the subject of many biographies, including one available on Amazon. Pat Garrett, Billy’s presumed killer, appears to be the focus of “Young Guns 2,” a sequel to “Young Guns” (William Petersen).
Guns 3’s subtitle implies that the franchise will revisit Roberts’ bold assertions about his prior existence as an outlaw in “Young Guns 2.” After his supposed death in the 1880s, the events of Roberts’ life might be examined in the new film. We don’t know what these occurrences will entail in detail. In spite of this, “Guns 3” promises traditional Wild West action and unresolved questions. It’s possible that the combination of the two will pique people’s interest in this resurrected franchise once again.
Billy the Kid Is the Alias of Guns 3’s Billy the Kid. Trailer
The Guns 3 trailer/teaser has not been released. It appears that a teaser will be released in the middle of 2022. It all depends on how much the production process is sped up, however.
The fans have been waiting for 30 years, so an extra year won’t make much of a difference to them. The manufacturers’ sleight-of-hand strategy is only going to delight the fans.
