Along for the Ride Release Date: Will There Be More Netflix Movies Based on Sarah Dessen’s Novels?
Netflix has released a lot of teen dramas over the years, but few have done as well as the To All the Boys I Loved Before trilogy, which was written by Sofia Alvarez and based on Jenny Han’s books.
Alvarez’s upcoming directorial debut should be just as successful because the filmmaker has used a best-selling romance novel again as a source of inspiration, as he did with his first film.
Along for the Ride is based on the 2009 book of the same name by Sarah Dessen. It tells the story of an introverted teen and a mysterious stranger she meets the summer before she starts college.
Will There Be More Netflix Movies Based on Sarah Dessen’s Novels?
Because they’re adapting more than one Sarah Dessen book, we’re happy that Along for the Ride looks like it won’t be the only one. Most likely, they’ll be adapting it for a laptop or cell phone screen.
According to the author’s website, Netflix has bought her book, The Truth About Forever, which is about love. There are no more details about how the streaming company plans to use her other young-adult novels, This Lullaby and Once and For All, but they’ve been bought by them.
Find some of Sarah Dessen’s 14 books and tell your friends that you read them before Netflix made them cool and popular.
