Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Eldest Son, Nicholas Lloyd Critically Ill With Gastric Cancer!

Andrew Lloyd Webber stays by the side of his oldest son while he fights stomach cancer.
According to Page Six, the renowned composer, 74, disclosed Nicholas Lloyd Webber, 43, has been suffering from the serious disease for more than a year. The EGOT winner tweeted, “I am terribly devastated to hear that my oldest son Nick is gravely ill.
He has been battling gastric cancer for the past 18 months, as my friends and family are aware, and Nick is currently in the hospital.
The “Phantom of the Opera” composer announced that his son’s health issues will prevent him from attending the March 23 Broadway premiere of his new musical, “Bad Cinderella” in New York City.
The performance recently moved from London’s West End. As a result, I was unable to see the recent previews of “Bad Cinderella,” and as things stand, I won’t be there to support the show’s stellar cast, crew, and orchestra on Opening Night this Thursday.
“Everyone is hoping Nick will turn the corner. Although he is valiantly fighting with his unflappable humour, right now I am with him and his family.
In response to the depressing news, the “Bad Cinderella” team also released a message via Twitter on Saturday.
The message was captioned, “The cast and crew of Bad Cinderella express their love, thoughts, and prayers to Andrew and the Lloyd Webber family.
Nicholas, whom Andrew has with his ex-wife Sarah Hugill, has been following in the footsteps of his famous father for a long time.
Along with the movie “The Last Bus,” he also provided the music for the BBC One series “Love, Lies and Records,” and in 2021, his work on the original cast recording of “Cinderella” earned him a Grammy nomination.
The composer has already admitted that he got rid of the “Lloyd bit” from his last name in an effort to be evaluated solely on his own merits.
In 2011, he admitted to The Times, “For a long time, I dropped the Lloyd bit – to see what the reaction would be.
I heard some information on the radio and realised I wasn’t completely insane. So I reasoned, “Hold on, maybe I should simply get on with it. If other people are willing to work with me without the surname.”
A few months ago, the Post exclusively reported that “The Phantom of the Opera,” Broadway’s longest-running production, would close its doors for good in 2023.
According to numerous sources, Andrew’s musical would run through the holiday season and end its illustrious run on February 18.
The mega-musical, created by Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew’s Really Useful Group, has played more than 13,000 performances on the Great White Way over the course of its 35-year run, beginning on January 26, 1988.
The performance will now end on April 16, 2023, eight weeks later than the originally planned ending date, due to demand after the shocking revelation.
About Nicholas Lloyd Webber
Nicholas Lloyd Webber is the son of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sarah Hugill. The artist, who is now 43, has been doing what his father did for many years. After scoring the original cast album of “Cinderella” in 2021, he was nominated for a Grammy. He also did the music for the BBC One show “Love, Lies, and Records” and the movie “The Last Bus.”
In a previous interview, the young composer said that he dropped the “Lloyd bit” of his last name to try to be judged on his own abilities. “I dropped the Lloyd bit for a long time to see how people would react.”
Nicholas went on, “I heard some things on the radio, so I thought, ‘Okay, I’m not a complete idiot.'” Then I thought, “Hey, if people are willing to work with me without my last name, maybe I should just do it.” The record producer who was nominated for a Grammy has also written music for TV ads.
Nicholas co-produced and mixed the “Cinderella” album for Polydor Records, which went to number 1 on the official UK compilation album charts in July 2021. Nicholas has made a name for himself in the industry even though his father was successful.
