We are still several months away from the arrival of Stranger Things season 5 on our screens, with Volume 1 scheduled for release on November 26th. However, Netflix’s promotional campaign has officially begun, highlighted by the major reveal at TUDUM and more announcements expected soon. After weeks of speculation within the fan community, it appears a trailer is finally on the horizon—Netflix has either confirmed this or at least strongly hinted at it.
As noted by numerous fan accounts, including Stranger Universe, the official show account recently sent out a broadcast message on one of its social channels stating, “scanning for signal…” accompanied by a satellite emoji.

The last broadcast message was posted on May 30th and contained an indecipherable voice note, which served as a teaser for the TUDUM reveal the following day.
Adding to the anticipation, Netflix updated the Stranger Things YouTube channel by creating a new playlist titled Stranger Things 5. Additionally, on July 2nd, Ross Duffer shared an Instagram photo captioned “On the mix stage…”. The screen in the image displays “THE FINAL SEASON.” Could this indicate a last-minute edit for the trailer release? We will have to wait and see.

When can we expect this trailer? The leading theory points to Tuesday, July 15th, which coincides with the ninth anniversary of season 1’s release on Netflix—a meaningful tribute.
Could the Stranger Things Trailer Leaks Be Accurate?

If you want to experience the trailer fresh, it is recommended to skip this section. Recently, a leaker on Reddit, X, and Discord shared intel in late June about an upcoming trailer and revealed many details. This source’s credibility is supported by their previous accurate leaks of release dates before the official TUDUM 2025 announcement.
While we won’t delve into all specifics, this individual is confirmed to have close knowledge of the show’s promotional activities. Summaries from Stranger Things Spoilers and Qwerty on X have compiled the now-deleted Reddit thread’s content, revealing that a trailer is expected in July and outlining its contents. “A leaker who previously revealed details from the #StrangerThings5 TUDUM teaser is back, and now claims to have seen a brand-new 2-minute and 35-second trailer.
Here’s everything he ‘remembers’ from it so far:
- No exact release date, but it’s said to drop sometime this month.
- More scenes from the military base and the massive wall shown in the TUDUM teaser.
- Vecna is seen entering Hawkins through a new portal.
- A new kid, possibly named Derek, may possess abilities.
- One scene shows someone (not Eleven) jumping onto a school bus using some kind of push force; the face is hidden, so the identity is unclear.
- Eleven and Mike appear together again.
- Eleven is seen wearing the same wetsuit from the Void sequences in earlier seasons, suggesting she may be trying to reach someone (Will? Max?) through the Void again.
- Max appears in only one emotional shot, still in a coma.
- Lucas is crying beside her in what seems to be a heartbreaking moment.
- Karen and Holly are hiding in a bathtub filled with water, likely trying to evade a Demogorgon.
- Nancy is shown in a bathroom, hands covered in blood, crying while washing them.”
Some of these scenes resemble what was shown at Next on Netflix 2025 to journalists worldwide via satellite. However, this trailer appears more detailed than the footage previously released, which depicted Hawkins in chaos and the military struggling to control the situation.
Unlike most Netflix Originals that premiere at midnight, Stranger Things will not follow this pattern. According to the Media Center, episodes will be released at 5 PM PT or 1 AM GMT. The schedule is as follows:
- Episodes 1–4 – November 26th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
- Episodes 5–7 – December 25th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
- Episode 8 – December 31st, 2025 at 5:00 PM PT
