Eva Lasting Renewed For Season 4 on Netflix
Eva Lasting, Netflix’s longest-running and first-ever Colombian series (originally titled La primera vez in Spanish), will continue its success with the confirmation of a fourth season in development. Season 3 was renewed in August 2024, with all 10 episodes released on Netflix in early June 2025.
Although Netflix’s official social media channels have not directly announced the renewal for season 4, multiple local media outlets and the cast confirmed it during the season 3 premiere event. Bloomberg Línea reported from the premiere (translated), stating, “as during the third season premiere, it was announced that the fourth season will soon be arriving on the platform. A release date was not specified.”
Additionally, an interview and feature article from El Tiempo also verifies that a fourth season is underway.
The cast further confirmed the continuation of the series during an appearance on Noticias Caracol. A clip shared by the fan account La Primera Vez Serie stated, “We [can] exclusively tell you that this story doesn’t end with the third season,” and included a preview of upcoming scenes from season 4.
Season 3 is set at the close of 1977, with turmoil at José María School following Quiñones’s troubled leadership. Against a backdrop of growing social unrest across Colombia, Eva, Granados, Castro, Salcedo, and Pabón face pivotal moments in their final school year and the uncertain future ahead. With the ICFES exams behind them, military service approaching, and university decisions looming, each character confronts the challenges of adulthood. As Eva and Granados’s romance takes an unexpected twist, the group navigates heartbreak, hope, and difficult choices in a bittersweet farewell to youth and friendship.
As with previous seasons, the show remains a massive hit in Colombia, spending nearly a full month in the country’s top 10 since its release. Historically, maintaining a month-long presence in a country’s top 10 is often crucial for Netflix international series to secure renewals. Unlike the first two seasons, season 3 did not appear in the global top 10 rankings. Season 1 attracted 1.4 million views in its first week before dropping out, while season 2 garnered 900,000 views upon launch before exiting the charts. Season 3, however, spent 4 weeks in Colombia’s top 10, 2 weeks in Ecuador and Guatemala, and 1 week in Costa Rica and Honduras.
