You Season 5 Got Renewal From Netflix for the Final Season!

On March 24, 2023, Netflix announced that there would be a fifth season of You (according to Variety). At the time, neither the plot details nor the release date was known. However, we did learn that showrunner Sera Gamble will be leaving her job.

“As I step back from day-to-day show running to focus on new projects, I’m very grateful to co-creator and all-around genius Greg Berlanti, Caroline Kepnes, my friends at Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, and our loyal partners at Warner Bros. and Netflix,” Gamble said in a statement.

“It’s been an honor and a lot of fun to work on the show with our writers, producers, directors, cast, and crew.”

She went on, “I feel lucky to have worked with an artist as talented and kind as Penn Badgley.” “I’m proud of what we’ve all done and feel lucky to be able to pass the torch. I’m excited to watch and support the You team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to a delightfully twisted end.”

Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo, who are already on the show’s executive team, will take over as co-showrunners. In a statement of their own, the two said they were very happy to be taking over production of You and thanked Gamble for all her hard work.

You Season 5

The cast hasn’t been revealed just yet, although Joe will undoubtedly be played again by Penn Badgley.

After leaving behind characters like Love and Ryan from season three, you essentially presented a brand-new cast for Joe in London in season 4.

As Lady Phoebe (Tilly Keeper) has found her new calling in life in Asia and Nadia (Amy-Leigh Hickman) is currently in jail, it seems like season four wraps up the narratives for most of the new characters.

As a result, it seems unlikely that any of those characters will return. But, a scenario in which Nadia pursues Joe and exacts her retribution is entirely conceivable.

Amy-Leigh Hickman told Digital Spy that she would “love” to return for a potential fifth season, indicating that she is eager to resume her role as Nadia. “I would love to come back and play her again,” she remarked.

Even if Marienne (played by Tati Gabrielle) makes an appearance in season four, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever want to come within 10 miles of Joe given how things ended with Marienne. Since Joe and Kate currently reside in New York, we can infer she will make a comeback as Joe’s girlfriend.

There isn’t a trailer for season five of You yet, but here’s one for season four.

When Netflix said season 5 would happen, they said it would come out in 2024. Then it won’t be long!

In October 2021, it was decided that You would have a fourth season, and filming would start in March 2022. The first part came out in February 2023, and the second part came out in March. If season five follows the same pattern, it will probably come out in the summer of 2024.
