Krakow Rugby Festival

Every year, Krakow Poland hosts several teams for the Krakow Rugby Festival. The tournament which started in 2016 takes place on the third weekend of June. It attracts international teams playing 7s for the women and 10s for the men. The event also sums up as a charity funding campaign currently raising funds for two charities. The festival organizers also invite international referees to officiate the matches.

This year’s event is taking place at a time when the world is still in the middle of a pandemic with last 2020’s tournament having been canceled. All measures are being taken to prevent incidences of COVID 19 infections. Some of the measures include limiting the number of fans in the stadium and ensuring that all the players have been tested regularly. The event kicks on Friday where teams will be invited to an induction and provided with the general tournament information. Saturday will see all the qualifying rounds in the various categories played. On Sunday all the finals will be played and the tournament will be completed with a gala dinner being organized and the final charity auction will be held.

Some of the teams which will be participating in the event include Ireland, the USA, Doha ladies, CYM Terenure WRFC, Houston Oilers, and UAE.

The Hong Kong Sevens

With last year’s Hong Kong Sevens being canceled, organizers of this popular tournament are betting on the reduced COVID 19 cases and relaxation of the travel restrictions to attract more teams and fans. The event which has traditionally been held in April every year has been rescheduled to November 2021. The tournament is such popular that it gets a sold-out stadium and also weeks of parties and other events that happen during the events period. One cannot also forget the intense and energized competitions that thrill the rugby fans in and out of the stadium. A total of twenty-four teams are expected to battle it out in this premier event in the World Rugby Union’s calendar. The event is expected to attract more than one hundred thousand people although the number may be less if the travel restrictions that have been put in place to curb the spread of COVID 19 will not have been relaxed. Rugby fans are looking forward to a great event. Having missed it in 2020, they cannot wait to create a carnival atmosphere in the stadium. In case you miss the tickets, there are still chances to watch the games since the sponsors will have set up the Sevens villages. Here large screen will be showing the games at no extra cost. It is not only the game that those who will be in the Sevens village will enjoy, fans will be treated to foods, after-game parties, food, and gpay betting sites among other activities.

Women’s Rugby World Cup

With the first women’s tournament played in 1991, this event has become very popular among the rugby-playing nations around the world. The event which was supposed to be held in 2021 was postponed just like many other events during the pandemic and is scheduled to be played in 2022 in New Zealand. It was the first time that the Women’s World Cup was to be held in the southern hemisphere. This is not the only thing that will be different; the format of the tournament will be changing with this event; the classification matches will be replaced with quarter-finals. The tournament which was to be held between September and October 2021 will have its window extended from thirty-five to forty-three. It has now been rescheduled from October 8th to November 2022.
