Where to Watch the Original The Willow Movie
If you do not have a Disney+ subscription, you can rent or purchase the original “Willow” on multiple different streaming platforms. Willow is available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Plus, YouTube, Microsoft, Vudu, Redbox, AMC Theaters On Demand, DirecTV, and Spectrum On Demand for streaming. It costs $3.99 to rent and $19.99 to purchase on all platforms except AMC Theaters On Demand, where it costs $17.99 to purchase.
The Plot of the Willow
In the original film, Willow began on a journey to deliver a small child he discovered near his village and to safeguard her from an evil sorcerer who sought to harm her. Willow was in completely unfamiliar surroundings, having rarely left his small community.
His voyage is riddled with nasty monsters and wretched minions of the evil Empress Bavmorda, but Willow also encounters a group of lifelong companions, such as the pompous yet adorable swordsman Madmartigan, who aid him in his quest. Willow ultimately won in his effort to defend the small boy, and he returned home with a newfound respect for learning magic.
Willow’s next adventure is shrouded in mystery, but we do know that he will continue to be the altruistic, lovable hero from the film. The teaser suggests that the once-novice magician has greatly developed and perfected his skill, carrying himself with a sense of dignity and confidence while staying modest.
The show is confirmed to take place decades after the events of the film, with Willow now supporting a young woman named Kit in her search for her kidnapped brother, along with a small group of companions on a new epic journey.
The Cast of Willow
It is reassuring to know that Warwick Davis will reprise his role as the farmer-turned-sorcerer Willow Ufgood, without whom there could be no Willow series. Also returning from the original cast is Joanne Whalley, who will reprise her role as the now-queen Sorcha.
The new series also features the introduction of a new group of adventurers. Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown) portrays Princess Kit, the daughter of Madmartigan and Sorcha, together with Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story) as Jade and Ellie Bamber (The Serpent) as Dove, who seek Willow’s assistance in saving the world.
Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Amer Chadha-Patel (The Third Day), Dempsey Bryk (The Silence), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (Game of Thrones), and Talisa Garcia also have starring roles (Baptiste).
The Trailer of Willow?
Willow and his pals will experience a great deal of magic and misfortune, as shown by the trailer for the new series. When the series arrives, expect action, strange creatures, and plenty of swords.
