Will learns from Faith. Mary Clark, the counselor, chaperoned the girls to Grier’s studio to record a song, including Emma. Will believes the same person kidnapped and convinced Grier to commit suicide. He thinks Emma broke up with Evan, forcing him to abduct her and profit.

Will visits Mary’s residence to ask about that day and examine a list of attendees. Will recognizes the cupboard’s wood from the kidnappers’ footage as she checks her laptop. He searches the house for the filming location to confirm. He pulls a gun on Mary, but she already has one. Faith saves Will by tasing Mary. Mary doesn’t answer questions. Will asks Angie to tell her own story to save time.

Tears Angie tearfully admits that her addict mother sold her to older guys for money. Mary responds to Angie’s eagerness to please and love her. Evan raped her in high school and forced her to bring girls to him. Mary did everything Evan asked to please him. She admits to kidnapping Emma and reveals her car’s location. The parents and cops rescue Emma from the creek. She’s fine.

Ramón Rodrguez, who portrays Will Trent, leads the cast of the new series. Rodrguez is no stranger to television, having appeared on The Defenders, Iron Fist, Charlie’s Angels, and The Affair, among other programs. Fans of Transformers will recognize him as Leo Spitz from Transformers: Fallen Empire.

Starring opposite Rodríguez as Angie Polaski is actress Erika Christensen. Christensen is also a well-known figure on network television. She starred in the critically acclaimed smash drama Parenthood before. Most recently, she portrayed Kate in the Cheaper by the Dozen revival on Disney Plus.

Iantha Richardson (This Is Us), Jake McLaughlin (Quantico), and Sonja Sohn round out the remaining cast members of Will Trent (The Chi).
