Will the HYOUKA SEASON 2 Air in 2021?

Hyouka is a mystery novel that originated in Japan.

Honobu Yonezawa is the writer of the novel that was published by Kadokawa Shoten. It was published on 31st October 2001 and is a part of the Classic Literature Club novel. 5 more novels were also added from 2002-2016 in the club.

The manga was then converted into anime television series that was aired from 22 April 2012 to 16 September 2012.

Yasuhiro Takemoto is the director, and Shoji Gatoh is the writer of the anime Hyouka.

Atsushi Ito and Hideaki Hatta are the producers of the anime. The anime ended with 22 episodes.


The Plot of The Anime Hyouka:

The story of the anime is set in an unrealistic city named Kamiyama city that is based on his realistic hometown of Takayama. The high school in which the characters studied is also fictional is named Kamiyama High School. It is also based on the real-life high school named Hida High School. The students Hotaro, Eru, Satoshi, and Mayaka begin to solve various mysteries to help the club from being abolished and also on the demand of Eru.

Hotaro Oreki is the main character of the anime who believed that if he wants to do something, he will do it quickly, and if he doesn’t want to do something, he will not do it. Agreeing to the request of his older sister named Tomoe Oreki, he joins the Classic Literature Club so that he could prevent it from being dissolved. He has brilliant logical deductions but doesn’t like to waste his energy. If he has given a mystery he will solve it with his logical power. He doesn’t like to tell anyone about his deduction power and claims that he was just lucky while solving the problem. He finds himself very much involved in the life of high school after being urged by Eru.

Eru is a very curious girl who connects to the Classic Literature Club just out of interest. She has an excellent memory and is among the top rankers of the class. On the other hand, she also gets distracted very easily and quite believes in the reasoning abilities of Oreki. She is also an energetic girl and is full of etiquette. Whenever a mystery arrives in front of her she is unable to stop herself from thinking of it. She often praises Oreki’s reasoning ability for solving almost any problem.

Satoshi Fukube is the batchmate of Oreki who connects to the Classic Literature Club along with him. He has an impressive memory and is often referred to as a human database. This is the quality of him on which he is very proud. He always prompts Oreki to participate in more opportunities in life, on the other hand, he is also envious of the reasoning abilities of Oreki. He makes fun of Oreki whenever he is told to perform an energy-consuming task. He is close to Mayaka Ibara. He divulges that he doesn’t have feelings for Mayaka as he doesn’t want to get obsessed with her. However, they date each other in the second year of their college.


Mayaka Ibara is the fourth member of the Club. She is also the classmate of Oreki in their middle school. Her relationship with Oreki starts to develop when she became Eru’s friend. She is very passionate about drawing Manga and was also a member of the Manga Club at her school time. She has feelings for Satoshi, who always treats her in a very carefree way.

Fuyumi is also a friend of Eru and is an expert at manipulating others. She is the one who guides the classmates to make an independent film.

Release Date of Hyouka Season 2:

Nearly all 6 novels were covered in the anime. Both anime and the novel gained much popularity among the people in Japan. It is among one of the best and most popular novels of the writer Honobu. However, Honobu is a writer known for working at a very slow pace. He mentioned that he is going to write a 7th novel soon. Due to its popularity, it’s clear that season 2 has an existence. However, the next season is expected to be released in 2021 or 2022.
