The passing of Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox‘s brother, college football star Luke Knox, in August surprised the public. After his late brother’s passing two months prior, the NFL star dedicated the game-winning touchdown he scored on Sunday to him.
In spite of the Buffalo Bills‘ 24-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, spectators were moved by Dawson Knox’s game-winning touchdown.
Tight end Knox, who lost his brother in August, has had a difficult couple of months. In order to grieve with his family in Tennessee, Knox missed the Bills’ preseason matchup against Denver. By dedicating his winning play to his late brother, the 25-year-old made sure that his brother’s memory will live on.
Who Was Luke Knox?
Luke Knox, the brother of former Ole Miss star tight end Dawson Knox, played for the Panthers in 2022 after spending four years at Florida International University and donning the number 16 jersey. Luke passed away at the age of 22 on Tuesday, August 18, never getting the chance to play this season.
The collegiate football hero was barely 22 years old when he passed away. His parents were David and Rachel Knox, and he was born Luke Forrest Knox on September 19, 1999.
Before moving to FIU, the general business major played his final four seasons at Ole Miss. In 2019 and 2020, he was an outside linebacker; however, in 2021, he switched to tight end. The linebacker from Brentwood, Tennessee, played this season for FIU.
Death Cause of Luke Knox
Luke Knox, a football player for FIU who played for Mississippi before switching to the Panthers and was the brother of Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox, passed away on Thursday, the university announced.
Although no reason has been given, his university does not believe there was any wrongdoing. Sadly, Florida International University (FIU) discovered him unconscious in his dorm room on August 17. Although the institution stated that police do not believe there has been foul play, the cause remains unknown.

During the Game Against the Chiefs, Dawson Knox Remembers His Late Brother Luke
After scoring a touchdown in the Bills’ 24-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Dawson Knox appeared to pay tribute to his deceased sibling. Late in the fourth quarter, Dawson scored the game-winning touchdown and raised his finger in victory.
In a low-scoring contest, the Bills prevailed, avenging their AFC Championship loss to Kansas the previous year.

Last week, Dawson posted an homage to Luke on Instagram. He declared, “Luke is not lost because we are aware of his exact whereabouts. I’m confident that God has him, and I’ll eventually get to see him again.”
