The new episode takes place months after the sad end of Henry and Sam’s story. Joel and Ellie are on their way to Jackson, where Tommy and his wife Maria live in a commune.
Shortly after they get there and Joel and Tommy hug each other, they sit down to a hot meal together. Ellie was born and raised in the QZ, so she doesn’t act like a normal child would (swearing, wanting to have a gun, etc).
As they eat, Ellie looks up and sees a girl across the room staring at her. She doesn’t like it and yells, “What?” at the girl, who then runs away. I want to know if that was Dina.
Did Dina Show Up in Episode 6 of the Last of Us?
It hasn’t been said for sure, but yes, that was Dina in Episode 6 of The Last of Us. According to the list of actors, Paolina van Kleef played the “staring girl.” She looks a lot like Dina, but it’s not clear if the same actress will be back for Season 2, which will start telling the story of The Last of Us Part 2.
“It’s not clear,” said co-showrunner Craig Mazin. Ellie is being watched… I don’t know who that could be, but one day we’ll find out.”
Who is Dina In The Last of Us?
In The Last of Us Part 2, Ellie’s partner is Dina. She lives in Jackson. Over the course of the game, Ellie and Dina fall in love with each other, and Dina goes with Ellie on her mission. In the game, Shannon Woodward is the one who speaks for her.
We won’t go into too many other details, but Druckmann said on the podcast, “In Part 2, there is a story about the first time Dina met Ellie that is very similar to what happens here.”
In Part 2, Dina and Ellie talk about how they felt when they first got to Jackson in a short piece of dialogue. Dina says, “I was so shocked by how many people there were.”
“All the food was too much for me. I remember how I ate all the time during my first week. Ellie says, “I was putting food in all my pockets like I was going to run out.” Dina says, “I saw that… I did, and I remember thinking, “Who is this string bean girl stealing all the jerky?”
Van Kleef’s Instagram is full of comments asking if she’s the show’s Dina. At the time of writing, this hasn’t been confirmed, though.
