Thursday in So Paulo marked the passing of Pelé, one of soccer’s best players and a transformative force in 20th-century sports who achieved a degree of global fame few athletes have experienced. He was 82.
Joe Fraga, who served as his manager, confirmed his passing. According to the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in So Paulo, multiple organ failure was a consequence of the advancement of colon cancer.
In recent years, Pelé had been receiving cancer therapy, and he was admitted to the hospital some weeks ago for treatment of a variety of ailments, including a lung infection.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento, whose real name is Pele, was born in Brazil in 1940. His career extended for more than twenty years, and he is widely recognized as one of the best soccer players in history. Pele was married twice and had multiple children; his personal relationships impacted his life and profession significantly.
1966 marked the beginning of Pele’s marriage to Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi. Together, they produced three children, and Pele acknowledged Rosemeri for helping him maintain a balance between his professional and home lives.

In 1992, Pele wed gospel singer and psychotherapist Assria Lemos Seixas. In 1996, twins Joshua and Celeste were born to the couple. Similarly, nothing is known about their relationship, but the couple separated in 2008.
Rosemeri Dos Reis Cholbi (1966 – 1988)
Rosemeri dos Reis Pele’s former spouse was Cholbi, also known as Rose Cholbi. Cholbi played a vital role in her ex-life husband’s and had a great career of her own, despite the fact that she may not be as well-known as he is.
Cholbi and Pele were married in 1966 after meeting in the 1960s. Together, they have two children: Edson Arantes do Nascimento Jr. and Jennifer. However, their union was brief, and in 1982 they divorced.
Cholbi has also appeared in several fashion campaigns and magazines as a model. She has appeared on a variety of magazine covers, including Vogue Brazil and Marie Claire Brazil.
Cholbi is also well-known for her charitable endeavors, in addition to her job in the entertainment business. She has participated in a number of philanthropic organizations, such as the Brazilian Association of Assistive Technology and the Brazilian Association of Cerebral Palsy.
