Lysa TerKeurst, an American speaker and author of Christian nonfiction, is no stranger to the public stage. Now, she is the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries.

TerKeurst is the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, which was founded by Jennifer McHugh in 1994 as a newsletter and expanded with the assistance of TerKeurst and Marybeth Whalen in 1995. The Marriage of Lysa and Art TerKeurst
Lysa and Art have been married for almost thirty years. However, neither of them has had a smooth ride during the past 30 years, especially Lysa. Lysa discussed an abortion she had before marriage in 2008. Then Lysa also discussed her marriage to Art in a February 2020 AL.com interview.
In 2017, Lysa stated that she was divorcing Art due to his serial infidelity and substance misuse. Additionally, the well-known speaker underwent breast cancer surgery at the same time. In December 2018, despite their disputes, Lysa and Art reconciled and renewed their vows near their home.

Since then, the couple has never had a significant marital issue. Art’s absence from Lysa’s Thanksgiving photo makes it impossible to determine if something went wrong for them down the road.
Lysa herself has also discussed her marital status on her website. Her exact words are, “The previous several years have been the most difficult of my life.” After nearly 30 years of marriage, we have experienced the depths of marital heartache, the struggle of healing, and the arduous route of restoration. I also know what it’s like to receive a cancer diagnosis and question why God would tolerate such suffering.
Lysa and Art have also raised five children together; they are the biological parents of three lovely daughters and the adoptive parents of two Liberian boys. Hope Terkeurst Houser, Ashley TerKeurst, and Brooke Terkeurst are her three daughters, while Mark and Jackson are her sons.
Ashley, the daughter of Lysa, is married to David Hodges, a former college pastor of Church of the Highlands and the son of Church of the Highlands’ founding pastor, Chris Hodges. In the piece headed “When Good Becomes Bad,” Ashley described her relationship with her parents. She disclosed that her father’s infidelity wreaked havoc on their marriage.
Hope, the second child of Lysa, is married to Michael Houser and employed with Proverbs 31 Ministries. Brooke, the other daughter of Lysa, is a hair and cosmetics artist.

Lysa stated to her family, “Our five children are grown and have their own families, so my husband Art and I are adjusting to the empty-nest lifestyle together. All of our children reside in close proximity to us outside Charlotte, North Carolina. When we can, we spend a great deal of time together at home or in the mountains, away from the bustle of daily life.
