In September 2012, it was said that Young had not paid back a payday loan for $1.9 million and was having money problems. He sued Pro Player Funding LLC to stop the lender from enforcing a nearly $1.7 million judgment.

He claimed that the loan documents were fake, even though the loan payments came straight from his Eagles salary and his signatures were notarized. Vince also sued his former agent and a financial planner in North Carolina, saying that they stole more than $5 million from him.

In January 2014, he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Later that month, after settling the lawsuits he was in, he asked for the bankruptcy filing to be dropped.
