Tyler Cameron Admits to ‘Clashing’ With Rachael Kirkconnell: ‘Sometimes I Don’t Want to Hear It’

A friendship with which we cannot get enough. Matt James created a name for himself as the Bachelor of Season 25, but before that, he was known as Tyler Cameron’s best buddy. Over the years, Cameron, who made his Bachelor Nation debut during Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette, has also been James’ biggest supporter.

Tyler Cameron denies claims that he is no longer close with Matt James and James’ girlfriend, Rachael Kirkconnell. The alumnus of The Bachelorette described how his friendship with James, 30, has evolved since his best friend began dating Kirkconnell, 25, on The Bachelor.

Cameron, 29, told Us Weekly about his connection with former roommate James, “We all have those pals that grow up, start dating their guy, get married, and do their thing, and you see him when you see him.”

James previously stated that Cameron had a love-hate relationship with Kirkconnell, and Cameron has now clarified what this means.

He proceeded “We simply have our own methods of conflict. I don’t like listening to people sometimes. In addition, she is strong and has a lot of insightful opinions. And occasionally I do not wish to hear it.”

He continued, “They are quite happy, and I feel we clash because we are both passionate about our beliefs. However, we have also learned from one another, which is positive.”

Cameron acknowledged James and Kirkconnell: “I believe they complement one other well. They make each other happy and keep each other going, which is crucial.” He also described Kirkconnell as a “very wonderful person” with “always good intentions.”

James chose Kirkconnell as his last woman on The Bachelor, despite a brief separation following the show’s broadcast in early 2021. Kirkconnell was criticized after racist behaviors from her sorority days came to light; she apologized and condemned the behavior. Later on, Kirkconnell and James reconciled and maintained their relationship. The couple was not engaged on the show, nor have they taken any steps toward marriage.
