How Did Twisters Begin?
In June 2020, Universal Pictures, the distributor of the original film Twister (1996), announced a remake in development. Joseph Kosinski was in talks to write and direct the remake, with Frank Marshall and Sara Scott as producers. In June 2021, Helen Hunt showed interest in creating a sequel to the original film, but the studio declined her proposal to write and direct it.
