Phase one of lockdown was one of our favourite periods of the game. At the time, we all believed that things would return to normal by the summer and that, in the meanwhile, we could relax at home with some well-deserved Netflix and chill time. Particularly in light of the streaming service’s cancellation of the brilliant dating sitcom Too Hot To Handle.
The show, which immediately gained popularity as a cross between Love Is Blind and Love Island, premiered in the spring of 2017 (yep, we can’t believe it’s been more than a year already!) The story quickly went viral on social media and became the most talked-about topic. Why? The concept, on the other hand, was a little out there.
During the show, a group of gorgeous singles from all over the world were brought together on a tropical island where they were encouraged to form close ties through dialogue rather than physical contact. The rules were straightforward: form emotional ties without touching or engaging in any form of physical intimacy in order to win a substantial sum of money at the conclusion of the game.
Every couple who violated the rules saw their share of the group’s $100,000 cash reward reduced by a significant amount. Naturally, some of the candidates were adamant about breaking the rules, which resulted in a great deal of excitement. This was just the type of well-timed entertainment we needed at the time!
At the conclusion of the first season, the gang was awarded $7,500 apiece before taxes (as well as newfound social media stardom, of course), and now, the famous show has returned for yet another explosive season, which will premiere a lot sooner than you may expect.
Who are the Contestants on the Second Season of Too Hot to Handle?
Season 2 of “Too Hot to Handle” will feature ten new contestants who will compete against each other. In part because to an informative cast breakdown provided by Entertainment Tonight.com, we know that the five men and five women who will be jetting off to a new tropical locale are a varied group, similar to the Season 1 ensemble. The contestants are from a variety of countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, France, and the United States, and they are all in their 20s.
Watch the “Meet the Cast” preview on YouTube or read our basic summary of the participants (or both!) for a more in-depth look at the contestants. Listed below is everything we know thus far about the Season 2 contestants:

Too Hot to Handle Season 2 will take Place in What Location?
The Caribbean island setting for the Netflix reality television show is a fresh setting for the show. In the previous season, the Casa Tau resort in Punta Mita, Mexico was the location for the filming (via Bustle). The location not only provided breathtaking views, but it also provided enough of surf and sand for the Season 1 cast to enjoy while trying to make things as casual as possible.
The tropical setting undoubtedly helped to create the tone for the reality competition series, with the heat forcing the participants to dress in their bare essentials in an effort to lure them into hooking up and so denying the rest of the cast the opportunity to win a large sum of money.
Season 2 of “Too Hot to Handle” will feature a fresh new cast of singletons attempting to keep their cool for money in a similarly tropical setting, but one that is significantly further away from Punta Mita than the first season. Instead, Season 2 will take place on the beautiful island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, at the famous Turtle Tail Estate tourist destination (via BT).
Just taking a look at the Turtle Tail Estate website will tell that the property is situated in a rather isolated position, surrounded by wide beaches and an abundance of clear, turquoise water. This new setting could serve as an even stronger invitation for the Season 2 group to breach the rules and hook up rather than remain chaste for the sake of money.
