Back then, the drama in his personal life was much bigger than his acting career. Keep scrolling to find out what happened to the Hollywood actor that led to his death.
What Was Tom Sizemore’s Death Cause?
Tom Sizemore, an actor who was famous for movies like “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawn Down” has passed away. His manager Charles Lago said that Tom died on Friday. He was 61 years old.
For those of you who don’t know, let us tell you that Tom was taken to the hospital on February 18 because he had a brain aneurysm and was in a very critical condition. His manager Charles said that Sizemore died peacefully in his sleep at a hospital in Burbank, California, on March 3, 2023.
In a statement, Tom’s manager Charles said, “It is with great sadness and sorrow that I have to tell you that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (aka “Tom Sizemore”), age 61, died peacefully in his sleep today at St. Joseph’s Hospital Burbank. His 17-year-old brother Paul and his twin sons Jayden and Jagger were with him.
Lago went on to say, “I am very saddened by the loss of not only a client but also a great friend and mentor of almost 15 years. Tom was one of the most honest, kind, and generous people I’ve ever met. His strength and determination in the face of trouble have always been an example to me. The last few years have been good for him, and he was getting his life back on track. He loved his family, especially his sons. I will miss my friend.”
Tom has been in a number of movies, including Saving Private Ryan, Heat, Natural Born Killers, Enemy of the State, and Bringing Out the Dead. Paul Sizemore, Tom’s brother, paid a moving tribute to the actor.
On the other hand, Paul Sizemore, Tom’s younger brother, also felt sad about his brother’s death. In a statement, he said, “I am very upset that my big brother Tom has died.”
Paul went on to say, “He was much bigger than life. He has had more of an impact on my life than anyone else I know. He was smart, funny and kind, and could keep you entertained for hours with his jokes and stories. I’m very sad that he’s gone and will always miss him.”
How Did Tom Sizemore Rise to Fame?
Tom was always interested in acting, even when he was young. As a child, he fell in love with movies when his movie-loving mother started taking him and his siblings to the Saturday triple feature at the local theatre. When he first saw The Wizard of Oz on a TV channel for old movies, he was blown away.
During an interview with Decider in May 2022, Tom said, “I was probably 11 or 12 when we saw the movie Beckett with Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton, and… I didn’t really understand the movie, but I did get that Burton and O’Toole had a special relationship, and I liked the drama of that.”
Then, the actor from Black Hawk Down said, “A few years later, when I was 14, I saw Taxi Driver. And that was the first time I remember wanting to know who the actor was, and who was playing this part. I was so interested in Robert De Niro‘s character Travis Bickle that I wanted to know, “Who’s this guy?”
He went on, “And I became very interested in it. I went to see that movie in the theatre about once a week for about two months. I saw it for 11 straight weeks. That’s when I first thought, “I want to be a part of whatever they’re doing up there. I would like to do that. And I started to think about how to become an actor. I did some research, and my mom helped me.”
Tom Sizemore’s Drug Addiction Had a Huge Effect on His Acting Career
Tom’s acting career was mostly derailed by the personal problems that came from his long-term drug abuse, which landed him in and out of jail and in and out of drug rehab. At one point, he was with Heidi Fleiss, who used to be a whore in Hollywood.
In 2005, Sizemore was found guilty of assaulting Heidi during their stormy one-year relationship. Because of this, he was given a six-month prison sentence. Fleiss, who went to jail in the 1990s for running a call-girl ring for Hollywood’s rich and famous, said that Sizemore stubbed out a cigarette on her and once knocked her down outside his house.
At the time, the actor denied the charges against him, but he didn’t show up to his trial to defend himself. He told the judge in a letter that he had “allowed my own demons to take over my life.” Then he wrote that he was “sure that if I hadn’t been high, I would have been able to control my behaviour.”
Sizemore went to jail in 2005 because he failed a drug urine test and broke the terms of his probation for domestic abuse and meth. His probation was restored after he went to a mental hospital to get help for his long-term depression and drug addiction, which a doctor said he had been dealing with for years.
During this hard time, our love and prayers are with the close friends and family of Hollywood actor Tom Sizemore. May his soul rest in peace.
