According to CBS, they advertise that already The Stand is a miniseries and it’s 9 episodes are released.
Their advertisement gives us a clue that the stand season 2 will not come at least for next few years.

Why the Stand Season 2 Can’t Be Released?
The author of the book hasn’t written a sequel to it so releasing a sequel to miniseries is hard. Personally, I don’t think we will be able to watch season 2.
Is the original book covered entirely? No, as its miniseries and everything that exist in the novel is not covered in miniseries. That might be the cause of the stand season 2 launch (if it happens ever).
