The Promise Season 2 Release Date: Renewed or Canceled?

A Thai BL drama called The Promise aired on WeTV from March to May of 2023. The show centers on Phupha and Nanfah, two friends from their youth who track down each other after being separated for ten years. Both fall in love with one another, but their budding romance is put in jeopardy by the secrets they are holding from one another.
There was a cliffhanger at the end of season one of The Promise, and viewers were left wondering if there would be a second season.
The Promise Season 2 Renewal Status
There has been no confirmation of a Season 2 of The Promise. There have, however, been whispers of a possible season two. A second season is still up in the air, although GMMTV, the show’s producer, has announced they are “considering” it.
That leaves up the possibility of future appearances by Phupha and Nanfah. The series’s popularity in Thailand and positive reception abroad have both contributed to the spread of these rumors.

If a second season of The Promise is given the go-ahead to be produced, it will most likely premiere between 2024 and 2025. The Promise Season 2 Cast
Season 2 of The Promise will most likely have the same actors as Season 1. The producers will likely keep the same cast and crew for Season 2, given the debut was well-received by critics and audiences alike.

The Promise Plotline
Nanfa and Phupha are two people we meet who grew up together and became close friends. Nanfa’s father ran a pharmacy and hoped that each of his children would follow in his footsteps and become prominent medical professionals.
Phupha’s father had a coffee shop across the street from the family pharmacy, serving coffee brewed from beans cultivated on the family’s ancestral land.
The two became fast friends and saw each other through some difficult times. When Phupha’s father passed away from heart disease, Nanfa was there to console him. Phupha successfully persuaded Nanfa’s conservative father to let him study Advertising instead of medicine. They’ve known each other ever since they were toddlers.
They were housemates while attending classes in the same building. Phupha was there till one day she just up and disappeared. Nanfa became anxious and bewildered after Phupha abruptly severed all communication with her. Over the next decade, he made numerous attempts to get in touch with his best friend Phupha, but he never found out where Phupha was.
Phupha’s lone parting message to Nanfa was a brief note explaining that he was going to Melbourne to see his mother. Nanfa travels to Melbourne every year for ten years in the hopes of finally seeing Phupha. Because of his insomnia and social isolation, he has trouble making friends.
This continues until, out of the blue, Phupha moves in with Nanfa next door. In the next chapter, we witness the reunion of two old friends who had become estranged. Both of them have experienced heartbreak due to the same emotion—love—but in very different ways.
Phupha suffers from the sorrow of his unrequited love for Nanfa, so much so that he abandons him for ten years. Nanfa’s physical and emotional problems stem from the sudden death of his best friend.
