The Player of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Finds A Trick To Defeat The Sand People
Peter Parker and Miles Morales battle a wide range of adversaries in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including Kraven and his army of hunters, The Flame Cult, and Venom’s legions of symbiotes. But the first enemies that gamers encounter are sand people.
The highly anticipated 2023 follow-up to Insomniac had arguably the most thrilling opening sequence in the series to date. The web-slinging team had to contend with an enormous Flint Marko, also known as the Sandman, who was wreaking havoc on the metropolis.
In order to fight during this conflict, Marko created numerous human-sized clones of himself. These clones later surfaced in side missions where the Spider-Men attempted to gather all of Sandman’s memory crystals and heal his mental state.
These enemies may usually be defeated using the same tools and techniques as other enemies in the game; but, Miles’ bioelectric Venom blasts can transform them into glass, making victory simpler. On Reddit, a player going by the handle Slow_Item_3736 revealed an other strategy, though.
As Spider-Man stands atop a rooftop fan in this video, the sand people can be seen collapsing as they rush toward him. Slow_Item_3736 also employed the web-pull technique to drag these opponents over the fans, making sure that multiple of them were eliminated before they could reach them.
It Makes Perfect Sense for the Sand People to Disperse When Crossing Vents
Although it’s not a strategy covered in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s numerous lessons, it makes perfect sense for the sand people to scatter upon crossing vents. Marvel’s Spider-Man previously revealed a vial of Sandman in one of Peter’s backpacks, indicating that he had previously succeeded in apprehending the supervillain.
Additionally, in a number of comic books and other narratives, including Marko’s debut in 1963’s Amazing Spider-Man #4, he has utilized a vacuum cleaner to apprehend the adversary. Consequently, if Sandman wasn’t completely solid, a fan would just have the opposite effect and cause him to blow in all directions.
Note that not all of the Sandman Crystal challenges are held on rooftops. Consequently, this strategy isn’t always applicable when players are dealing with the sand people on the streets or later on when they’re deep inside Sandman’s mind.
However, it’s a wonderful touch from the Insomniac devs to add this added vulnerability to the sand people. It is consistent with the character’s shortcomings and offers something new for players to learn, particularly as they adjust their strategies in later playthroughs of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, when they aren’t as dependent on tutorials and hints.
