The Morning Show’s Jeremy Irons’ New Job Wouldn’t “Happen at All” Without Demi Moore’s Assistance

Since their 2011 film Margin Call, Demi Moore and Jeremy Irons have maintained a strong friendship. Insiders exclusively tell Closer that this bond has assisted the seasoned British actor in landing a role on The Morning Show thanks to Jeremy Irons’s ability to make connections with Jennifer Aniston, a powerful figure in Hollywood.
The 75-year-old actor from Reversal of Fortune made his announcement on July 2 that he would be appearing in the fourth season of the drama on Apple TV+. In the show, he will portray Martin Levy, the father of Alex Levy, who is played by 55-year-old Jennifer, who also serves as executive producer.
A reliable source claims, “Jeremy appearing on The Morning Show wouldn’t happen without Demi Moore’s backing, and Demi wouldn’t happen without her current upswing—people take Demi seriously again, and nobody does so more than Jennifer Aniston.”
Jennifer and Demi, 61, had a close relationship despite their time spent working together as directors on the 2011 Lifetime anthology television film Five, which examined the effects of breast cancer on people’s lives.
The insider notes that fans of the newsroom drama are eagerly anticipating the next season, saying, “Demi goes back to the ’80s with Jeremy, and Demi is vouching for Jen and her skills as a producer here [on The Morning Show].” The Oscar winner Marion Cotillard was also revealed to be returning to The Morning Show for season 4.
“Jen is the prime mover on this show that Jeremy and Marion Cotillard, two Oscar-winning lead actors, have totally juicy roles in,” the insider says, referring to the upcoming fourth season of The Morning program.
And there should be a sizable reward. “To be fair, Jeremy and Marion are probably making close to a million dollars per episode—these are some of the highest-paying ‘guest actor’ roles on television.” However, the show is succeeding, and Jen will celebrate her win at the Emmys this autumn, the insider continues.
A record-breaking 72 Emmy Award nominations were received by Apple TV+ this year, with 16 of the nominations going to The Morning Show.
The source said, “What has happened here is extraordinary: Jen has turned this show into a showcase for major actors to do some very interesting work by leveraging a career full of contacts and her own special reputation.” “Jen and her entire friend group are thrilled about getting Jeremy!”
The Morning Show has not yet disclosed the official launch date for its upcoming season; nevertheless, as the airdate draws near, a source revealed to Closer in May that “Jen is strutting around feeling more confident than ever.”
The source mentioned, “She’s the undeniable leader of The Morning Show and aims to continue for many more years.”
On September 15 from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on ABC, the 76th Emmy Awards will be televised live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. September 7 and 8 are the dates of the Creative Arts events, which are where most of the Emmy trophies are presented.
