So,alliance were made between the elves and human to destroy Sauron's ring. The alliance of Human and elves won the battle and the ring fell in Isildur, the son of the King Gondor. He thought of destroying the ring as it is an evil and dangerous ring which eill destroy everyone. Just as he was about to destroy the ring, he change his mind and kept it by himself.
Later he was killed and the ring fell into the sea. The creature Gollum discover the ring. He took it to his place and wore it. Later hobbit Bilbo Baggins defeated him and took the ring.

By going one to another the ring finally got into the hand Gandalf. Firstly Gandalf didn’t recognize the ring but later he found out that it is the Powerful ring of Sauron and he was finding the ring in able to gain his power again and to capture it.
He then give the ring to Frodo and ask him to destroy the ring. The point to note here for you is the ring is powerful and if anyone wear it will make him to do the evil things. Frodo with his friends left in order to destroy the ring. They met with various circumstances and various enemies through the journey.
Gollum, who was a creature met Frodo and told him that he’ll let them to the place where they can destroy it. Later in story he changes his mind and his love for the ring return back. He tried various evil methods to let the ring. But lastly Frodo with the help of his friend was able destroy the ring.
