As the police are driving around with Lago in custody, they abruptly receive a directive from higher officials to switch their intended destination from the typical municipal prison to an old psychiatric facility called Baruca. Hugo, the police warden in Baruca, and a tough-looking man by the name of Lennon were the beneficiaries of a series of crucial phone conversations that were started by this arrest and the ensuing change in plans.
Hugo, along with his teenage daughter Alicia and his infant son Guilla, drive to the prison as Lennon appears to be getting a bunch of men ready for some serious work. Hugo wanted his three children to go with him when he had to interrupt the family Christmas celebration due to a professional emergency, but Laura, the oldest, rejects the idea and leaves on her own to see her divorced or separated mother.
As Hugo approaches Baruca, he is greeted by his own team of police officers, including the harsh security chief Bastos, the block officials Willy and Diego, police officer Macarena, who has arrived to add to the night's security, and the head psychiatrists Elisa and Espada.
Hugo suddenly feels uneasy even though Baruca is only intended to hold Simon Lago for one night before sending him to another prison. This is especially true when the murderer calls Hugo by his name, which is something that no prisoner is supposed to know.
But shortly after, Laura abruptly sends Hugo a video message in which she is captured being kidnapped and made to hold a sign threatening to be killed if he turns over Simon.
Uncertainty surrounds the scenario as a sizable convoy of vehicles approaches Baruca, all communication and power within the prison is shut off by jammers, and a sizable gang of masked men led by Lennon approaches the prison gates.
They are come just to take Simon Lago with them, either gently or violently if they are stopped. This is their obvious demand. A long night of terrors begins when Hugo rushes over to Simon's cell and discovers that the man is already aware of such a plan in the works.
