The Blacklist is a crime drama series that follows the life of Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former U.S. Navy officer turned high-profile criminal. After years of evading capture, he surrenders himself freely to FBI Assistant Director Harold Cooper and informs them that he has compiled a list of the most dangerous criminals in the world and is willing to offer it to them in exchange for his safety.
Each episode of the series focuses on one of the offenders on the list, with Reddington assisting the squad in tracking them down and capturing them.
The Blacklist Season 10 Release date
The release date for The Blacklist Season 10 has not yet been announced to the public. If NBC follows its previous release pattern, the season 10 debut should appear in the middle of the season. The most likely release date for the show would be September 24, 2022. After every episode has aired on NBC, “The Blacklist” will be made available on Netflix.
The Plot of The Blacklist Season 10
Season 9's conclusion provided a hint as to what The Blacklist Season 10 may involve. Now that Liz Keen's killer is dead, we expect the series to move on from Raymond Reddington's pursuit of vengeance. Marvin Gerard, who was incarcerated, briefly encountered Wujing, also known as No. 84 on the blacklist, who revealed that he is serving life without parole.
Wujing has a plan to escape, but he must first enter the courthouse, and he has no justification to be granted a hearing. Marvin provides him with the sorely needed rationale. Marvin shoots and kills himself after his release from prison, but before he does so, he tells Wujing that Red is the reason they are all in prison.
Wujing escapes from prison and plans to kill Raymond Reddington with the assistance of all convicts who have been wronged by Red. In the upcoming season, Wujing and other crooks would plot Red's murder alongside others.
What Can We Expect From The Blacklist Season 10?
The departure of two recurring characters will have a significant impact on the plot of the upcoming season. The organization of the task force will most certainly be altered, along with other substantial alterations. There are no known additional story details at this time.
Elizabeth Keen's death and the dissolution of the FBI Task Force have damaged the lives of former members of the task force and Raymond Reddington. Season 10 of The Blacklist will focus primarily on Wujing's attempt to collect Red's betrayed dangerous criminals in order to take him down.
Due to the departures of Amir Arison and Laura Sohn, it is only realistic to anticipate that season 10 will feature a few new series regulars.
The Cast of The Blacklist Season 10
The following main characters are anticipated to return for the upcoming season:
- James Spader as Raymond Red Reddington
- Diego Klattenhoff as Donald Ressler
- Harry Lennix as Harold Cooper
Amir Arison, who has played Aram Mojtabi for the previous nine seasons, is also leaving the show because he is preparing for his next project, The Kite Runner, in which he will play the leading character of Amir. In addition, Laura Sohn, who has portrayed FBI agent Alina Park for the previous three seasons, is departing the show.
In a statement to Deadline, Arison stated, “I have been very pleased to portray Aram Mojtabai for nine years on The Blacklist. It is not lost on me how fortunate I am to have had the opportunity to work and mature with a role for nine years with such an outstanding cast, crew, writers, and producers.”
I could not pass up the opportunity to fulfill a childhood ambition of portraying ‘Amir' in The Kite Runner on Broadway in a magnificent and current adaptation of the play. The producers, studio, and network have been incredibly supportive of my decision, and Aram is still “alive” with the possibility of a future comeback. Taking this step feels so natural given the events of the previous season, and I couldn't have hoped for a greater outcome.”
The Blacklist Season 10 fans have come up with a number of original theories, including the notion that Red is Liz's uncle. A user wrote that on the Blacklist, anything was possible. Fans further fear that, as Dom is himself a spy, he may have been forced to hand over his son to that program. Another explanation suggests that when Dom spoke of the son he never had, he was likely expressing disappointment symbolically.
