On top of that, executive producer Ted Lasso and the actor who portrays the title part, Jason Sudeikis (who sports an outstanding mustache), received a record-breaking 20 Emmy nominations in 2021, smashing the previous record set by a comedy series in its first season of broadcasting. It has been reported by TVLine that the upcoming season may begin after a time jump from the events of season 2. Brendan, who portrays Coach Beard, has stated that a time jump from the events of season 2 may occur. The reason for this is that “we don’t like to repeat ourselves,” he explained.
“In Season 1, we began the [Premier League] season in January, which was a first for us. Season 2 began in late September, and we were among the first to arrive. We’ve never gone from the beginning of a season to the end, so that may be something we want to do in the future. Because of how the English Premier League’s calendar is set up, we will face West Ham twice — at home and away — simply because that’s the way things work.”
It should be noted that Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed) left AFC Richmond to work for rival team West Ham, which is controlled by Rebecca Welton’s (Hannah Waddingham) former husband, Rupert Mannion, in the season 2 finale (Anthony Head).
