State of Decay 3 Gameplay, Release Date, Trailer 2022!

State of Decay 3: We first heard about State Of Decay 3 at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020, but we haven’t heard much since. After the technical troubles that plagued State of Decay 2, Microsoft’s acquisition of developer Undead Labs should provide the team with the resources they need to polish this threequel to a tremendous level of excellence.

Nonetheless, the franchise provides a unique role-playing experience complete with perma-death, resource management, and unbeatable odds, ensuring that die-hard fans will be itching for a new apocalypse. We’re eager to learn more about State of Decay 3, so here’s all we know so far.

State of Decay 3 Gameplay

State of Decay 3

While the zombie craze in the world isn’t as strong as it was a few years ago, we’re still in for some significant undead action in the near future. Undead Labs is now working on a third instalment in its State of Decay series, which will undoubtedly fight a varied cast of survivors against hordes of wandering undead as they attempt to create a home in a terrible world.

Action-adventure, survival horror, stealth, role-playing, strategy, and other genres have all been mixed together in this series so far. It’s been an interesting way to build a new civilization and kill zombies at the same time.

We don’t know any concrete gameplay specifics yet, but we expect State of Decay 3 to have a similar core to its predecessors. Players will control a tiny group of survivors, scouring the area for resources, other lost souls to recruit, and plenty of Plague Hearts to destroy while besieged by hordes of zombies.

The game’s base-building mechanism (which was a little clumsy in SOD2), more sophisticated customization choices for guns, automobiles, outfits, and other items, and a bit more character development are all expected to be overhauled.

While the characters in SOD2 had lots of backstories to tell and quirky one-liners to make them come alive, there was almost no character development throughout the game and just a few times where people truly bonded. If a stray plague zombie killed a long-serving community member, the remainder of the crew would have poor morale for a day or two and maybe utter a single sorrowful line before getting back to work

State of Decay 3 Trailer

State of Decay 3

The cinematic announcement given by Microsoft in July 2020 is our first and only glimpse at State of Decay 3. While the trailer contains no plot or gameplay elements, there is still a lot to unpack. The trailer depicts a lone female survivor attempting to survive in a harsh, hazardous environment (based on the surroundings, fans have speculated that the game will be set in Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, or Canada).

The survivor hears something in the surrounding woodland as she sharpens wooden bolts for her crossbow near a campfire – piercing white eyes materialize in the darkness, peering down at the lone human.

Instead of shooting her crossbow, fleeing, or at least extinguishing her fire to make herself less conspicuous, the survivor does something we’ve all been told not to do in a zombie apocalypse scenario: she screams at whatever is hunting her, ostensibly to terrify it.

It also works! Whatever was encroaching on her campground flees. But what was it, exactly? Sound has been a no-no in every prior State of Decay entry. The more noise you create, the more zombies will pursue you, shouting and summoning undead allies in the process.

Later in the trailer, the survivor discovers a trail of blood in the snow and sets out to find someone or something who has been injured. She witnesses a wolf carcass being eaten by what appears to be a zombified deer — the entire right side of its face is split open and rotting — through the eyesight of her crossbow. The deer lets out a terrifying howl after a beat, and the trailer abruptly ends.

Were there not enough zombies? Now we’ve got to deal with undead animals in the wild as well? We’re hoping for big weapon enhancements from the trailer’s modest crossbow. We’ll need every ounce of firepower we can muster.

State of Decay 3 Release Date

State of Decay 3

Microsoft has yet to announce a release date for State Of Decay 3, and the COVID-19 epidemic may delay that announcement as well. A series of games, including Everwild, Fable, Avowed, and more, is ‘anticipated to premiere in 2023,’ according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, however, State of Decay 3 isn’t included.

State of Decay 3 will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox One X, as well as PC. It appears that, unlike other Microsoft exclusives, it will bypass the Xbox One generation of platforms.

While State of Decay 2 was released at a discounted price, there’s no guarantee that State of Decay 3 will be the same. In any event, it’ll be available on Xbox Game Pass from the start, which means users will be able to download and play it for free.

Granted, we would have preferred actual gameplay, but we understand their decision to wait till things look better, and it still got a lot of fans excited, to the point where many Sony fans want to see State of Decay 3 on the PS4 or PS5.

State of Decay Series

State of Decay is a survival horror video game franchise. All of the games take place in a zombie-infested open world environment. Finding and fortifying strongholds, exploring the area to rescue survivors and collect various resources such as food and equipment, and defending the fortress from zombie attacks are all part of the fundamental gameplay cycle. The franchise’s second instalment includes four-player cooperative multiplayer.

State of Decay, unlike many other zombie games on the market, is not about killing zombies. Instead, the player must try to dodge them while scavenging for and managing resources, as well as interacting with other survivors. The series, according to Jeff Strain, CEO of Undead Labs, tackles the “human aspect,” or how individuals interact with one another and make decisions amid a moment of despair and hopelessness.

Conclusion

The State of Decay video game series is a collection of third-person survival horror games. Undead Labs created the series, which was released by Xbox Game Studios. The franchise has two instalments so far, with a third one on the way.

The video game series of State of Decay 3 will be released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, and PC by Xbox Game Studios. The game is unlikely to be launched during a period when fresh games are still being released for last-gen systems.
