The first season of Space Force garnered mixed reviews, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 39 percent. The show’s star-studded ensemble was praised, but it wasn’t enough to keep the series’ humorous element alive. On Rotten Tomatoes, the second season had a decent rating of 88 percent.
Season 2 of Space Force was a seven-part series that finished with the team attempting to rescue the base as it was being seized, as opposed to Season 1’s 10 episodes.
Casting Expectations:
If the show is renewed for a third season, fans can look forward to seeing Steve Carell as General Mark Naird, Lisa Kudrow as Naird’s wife Maggie (who had very little screen time in Season 2), John Malkovich as Dr. Adrian Mallory, Diana Silvers as Erin Naird, and Tawny Newsome as Captain Angela Ali, among other notable cast members.
The release date for Season 3 of Space Force has been set.
While the second season of Space Force recently aired, there has been no word on whether or not the show will be renewed. Netflix is reportedly waiting for audience feedback before deciding whether or not to renew the series. If the third season of Space Force is in the works, fans shouldn’t expect it to premiere until late 2023 or early 2024.
