Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville, who produced Lionsgate’s Wonder, will produce the film alongside Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina of Nuyorican Productions.

Mandeville Films‘ Alex Young is in charge of production and executive producing, while Nuyorican Productions’ Courtney Baxter is in charge of casting. Along with George Dewey, Ryan Reynolds serves as an executive producer. Lionsgate’s production is overseen by James Myers and Scott O’Brien.

Shotgun Wedding Plot

Darcy and Tom gather their adoring but abrasive families for the ultimate vacation wedding just as the couple begins to have second thoughts, but everyone’s lives are put in jeopardy when the entire party is kidnapped. If they don’t kill one other first, the couple will have to work together to save their loved ones.

Shotgun Wedding tells the story of Darcy and Tom, who come from opposing families. They’ve finally persuaded them to choose a wedding site and are ready to travel there with their family. However, the pair begins to have second thoughts about their marriage, and to make matters worse, their entire family is kidnapped, and they must now save their lives, which are in jeopardy, as they reconsider their decision to marry.

Originally, Ryan Reynolds was cast in the part of Tom, but he was replaced by Armie Hammer. However, Armie was pulled from the cast owing to charges of abuse against him, and Josh was cast in 2021.

Shotgun Wedding Release Date

Amazon Studios purchased the film’s rights from Lionsgate in March 2022, with the intention of releasing it on Prime Video. Lionsgate had previously planned to release the film in theatres on June 29, 2022.

Jennifer Lopez plays Darcy, the bride-to-be, and Josh Duhamel plays Tom, the groom. While this is Lopez’s second film in 2022 that required her to wear a wedding gown (the first was Marry Me, which was released in February), fans of the Transformers franchise may recognize Josh from his role as Danny McCoy in the US TV series Las Vegas.

The film also features a superb supporting cast, which includes Lenny Kravitz of the rock band Lenny Kravitz. At the time, all we know about Kravitz’s character is that he is named Sean and that he has something to do with a helicopter, as seen by the musician’s Instagram photo below, which shows him on set walking away from a blue chopper.
