Okay, so Shazam! has a really simple conclusion. A charming, family-friendly superhero adventure that relies mainly on a wonderful big-screen distillation of child logic and isn't excessively tied to the larger DC universe Although the EU doesn't really require much explanation, I couldn't help but get drawn in by some of the amusing details of how Dr. Sivana is brought down and, in particular, how the Shazam family acquires their powers.

This sequel was postponed twice because of the COVID-19 pandemic, first to November 4, 2022, and then to June 2, 2023. Shazam! Fury of the Gods was fortunately delayed by Warner Bros. from December 16, 2022, to December 21, 2022, so it wouldn't clash with Avatar: The Way of Water. Hopefully, the film's release date won't undergo any more significant modifications.

Cast and Characters of Shazam 2

Much of the original Shazam! ensemble is back for the follow-up, including Zachary Levi as Chuck and Asher Angel as Andi Mack. Jack Dylan Grazer (It), Faithe Herman (This is Us), Ian Chen (Fresh Off the Boat), Jovan Armand (Snowfall), and Grace Caroline Currey (Annabelle: Creation) reprise their roles as Billy's foster siblings, while Adam Brody (The O.C.), Meagan Good (Brick), Ross Butler (Raya and the Last Dragon), and D. J. Cotrona play their superhero counterparts (G.I. Joe: Retaliation).

The superhero version of Currey's character from the first movie was portrayed by Michelle Borth (Hawaii Five-0), but she won't be appearing in this one. Instead, Currey performs both incarnations of her role. Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), Marta Milans (High Maintenance), and Cooper Andrews are some of the other returning actors (The Walking Dead).

In addition, new characters are introduced in this film, played by Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, and Helen Mirren.

The Plot: Expected Storyline of Shazam 2

Shazam‘s official storyline summary has not yet been made public by Warner Bros. We'll attempt to deduce the plot of Fury of the Gods based on what is depicted in the first trailer.

Shazam 2 Release Date

Billy probably begins this sequel questioning whether he's a superhero good enough. Not to mention that he finds it difficult to control his siblings' superpowers as they each have their own agendas.

However, the Wizard figure played by Djimon Hounsou, who in the first film gave Billy abilities before dissipating into dust, finally informs him that the Daughters of Atlas are pursuing him.

The sisters repaired the Wizard's power-transferring staff that Billy shattered in the previous movie because they think kids stole godly capabilities, and they'll presumably use it to reclaim these abilities from the Shazam Family. That is all we currently know, although the film undoubtedly has further shocks that were not shown in the trailers.
