‘excuse to Back Out’ Seth Meyers and Alexi Ashe Celebrates Their 9th Wedding Anniversary

After their initial encounter, Seth Meyers and Alexi Ashe began dating, and in 2011, Seth intimated that a wedding was imminent. A couple of years later, Seth declared his engagement. Meyers told People that the proposal nearly did not go as planned.
Meyers currently hosts the popular NBC program Late Night with Seth Meyers. In 2014, when Jimmy Fallon became the host of The Tonight Show, he succeeded Jimmy Fallon as the host of The Tonight Show. As a writer for Saturday Night Live, Meyers established himself as an upcoming celebrity.
When he left SNL, he was already well-known, but his tenure on Late Night brought him worldwide prominence. Meyers is humorous, and his political commentary on the show is insightful. Seth Meyers’ stand-up comedy skills were on show in his 2019 Netflix special, Lobby Baby.
Some of Meyers’ jokes revolve around his devoted wife Alexi Ashe and his family. Alexi enjoys the spotlight less than her husband, but she does accompany Seth to the majority of award shows. This article will examine Ashe and Seth’s relationship, the couple’s children, and Ashe’s work.
On the occasion of their tenth wedding anniversary, Seth Meyers has nothing but love and admiration for his wife, Alexi Ashe. On Thursday, the 48-year-old host of Late Night with Seth Meyers reminisced in a heartwarming Instagram post how his wife made it to the altar on their wedding day despite having food poisoning.
“On this day nine years ago, Alexi Ashe was hospitalized with severe food illness,” he wrote alongside a photo of his wife dancing barefoot in her wedding gown. She had every reason to back out of the wedding, but she went through with it, and we have been married ever since.
Her performance that day was a microcosm of who she is: a fighter who is always at her best, regardless of the situation, he continued.
However, the comedian joked that he had one issue with Ashe: “If I have ANY criticism about her, it’s how little she does as a mom. I am essentially solely responsible. But this is not the time for petty grudges. It’s a celebration of my true love!” This is not the first time Meyers has mentioned Ashe’s sad sickness.
The Saturday Night Live star elaborated in a 2013 appearance on Late Night with David Letterman on how Ashe was hospitalized with food sickness but still made it to their wedding.
Meyers told presenter David Letterman, “I go to the emergency hospital, I meet her there, and she’s completely unconscious on a gurney, the way a person looks shortly before death.”
“A nurse walks in, takes one look at her, and says, ‘You’re not getting married today,'” he added. And it was as if my wife had been transformed into a movie star who had been knocked down and you thought he was finished… “She pulled herself up on her elbows and announced, “I’m getting married today.”
In 2021, the couple who wed on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts in 2013 gave birth to their third child, a daughter named Adelaide. Additionally, they share Ashe Olson, age 6, and Axel Strahl, age 4.
