The second season of the American version of the film “Ghosts” has been renewed. As a result of the show’s success, CBS has decided to renew it for a second season.

According to CBS, the television adaption of the BBC comedy of the same name has averaged roughly 8.1 million viewers each episode so far this season. It has also received positive reviews from reviewers; the series currently has a 94 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, combined with a great ensemble and exceptional writers, have done an outstanding job of adapting Ghosts for the United States and completely making it their own,” said Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment.

“Every week, this clever and endearing program delivers new creative highs, not to mention scare up new audience highs,” Kahl continued.
Along with this announcement, we learned that The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola will also be renewed for a second season. We plan to have more information regarding these upcoming seasons in the coming weeks and months.

Samantha and Jay, a married couple, are played by Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar in the version. Despite the fact that they are now living in a modest apartment in New York City, they end up inheriting a gorgeous country estate, which they intend to turn into a bed and breakfast.

When they arrive, they discover that their new home is in disarray and full of ghosts, with Sam being able to see and hear the spirits after surviving a near-death accident at the house.

Similar to how the British comedy has a number of Plague ghosts living in the basement, Sam and Jay’s mansion likewise has a group of spirits who perished as a result of cholera living in the basement.

In addition to Ghosts, CBS has renewed The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola, after the renewal of Young Sheldon, the network’s highest-rated comedy series. CBS has also renewed CSI: Vegas for a second season and ordered full seasons of FBI: International and NCIS: Hawai’i, among other programs. Every one of these shows will contribute to the development of CBS’s primetime programming for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

Ghosts started on October 7, 2021, and the show’s thirteenth episode aired only last week, making it the most recent episode to air. As a result of its success, it has risen to become one of CBS’s most popular series, and its renewal comes as no surprise.

A makeover and the opening of a B&B would cause a lot of turmoil in the spirits’ home, but it’s nothing in comparison to what happens when they realize Samantha is the first live person who has been able to see and hear them for a long time.

Ratings for the First Season:

The first season of Ghosts averaged a 0.57 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.67 million viewers in live+same day ratings, according to Nielsen Media Research (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). However, because these data do not take into account further delayed or streamed viewing, they are a good indication of how well a show is performing, particularly when compared to other shows on the same channel.

Another factor that influences a show’s fate is the economy; however, higher-rated series are more likely to be renewed, whilst lower-rated shows are more likely to be canceled. Check out how Ghosts stacks up against other CBS television shows.
