Sara Lee was born in Hope Township, Michigan, on June 7, 1992. She graduated from Meridian High School in 2010 and then attended Delta College in Bay City, Michigan, to study diagnostic medicine. She participated in powerlifting and wrestling competitions concurrently.
Lee was nominated as one of thirteen candidates for the sixth season of the WWE competition Tough Enough in 2015 and was ultimately voted one of the winners alongside Josh Bredl. During this same year, Lee chose the ring name, Hope.
In the same year, Lee was assigned to WWE’s developmental territory NXT in Orlando, Florida for training at the WWE Performance Center. On January 16, 2016, Lee made her first appearance for NXT under her true name at a live show, when she delivered a heel promo. On January 30, she made her ring debut with a live event during a six-Diva tag team match. Lee’s WWE contract was terminated on September 30, 2016.
Sara married Wesley Blake, a former WWE wrestler, on December 30, 2017. Their first kid, a daughter named Piper, was born on May 1, 2017, their second child was born on February 27, 2019, and their third child was born in 2021.
