Based on Jane Austen’s last unfinished novel, Sanditon is a romantic comedy. As Charlotte Heywood makes her way to the seaside resort of Sanditon, she meets up with aspiring entrepreneurs, frugal grand dame, and dashing gentlemen.
Charlotte (Sanditon Season 2) is in a state of shock after learning of the death of her first love, Sidney Parker (Theo James). She is quickly sidetracked, however, by a job as a nanny for the reclusive Alexander Colbourne.
In time, the two develop a close friendship and fall in love. A fight ensues between Colbourne and Charlotte after he misses the opportunity to propose. Charlotte returns to her family’s farm in Willingdon at the end of Sanditon Season 2, where she accepts a marriage proposal from local farmer Ralph (Cai Bridgen).
What Happened in Season 2 of Sanditon?
The second season of Sanditon begins nine months after the end of the first.
Charlotte (Kate Ashfield) returns to the picturesque seaside resort with her sister Alison (Rosie Graham) at Mary Parker’s (Kate Ashfield’s) urging. Colonel Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones) and the reclusive Alexander Colbourne (Jamie Bell) soon become interested in Charlotte (Ben Lloyd-Hughes).
As a governess to the daughter and niece of Colbourne, Charlotte accepts a position with the family. While spending time with Augusta and Leonora, she begins to see her boss in a new light and Colbourne begins to come out of his shell around them. Augusta Markham (Eloise Webb) and Leonora Colbourne Because of the death of Colbourne’s wife, he and Lennox have been feuding for years.
Sanditon’s new Army base brings with it the possibility of new romances, friendships, and challenges for the town’s inhabitants. Capt. William Carter (Maxim Ays), who woos Alison with fake tales of heroism, gets her to fall in love with him Alison sees Captain Declan Fraser (Frank Blake) in a new light when she learns of the deception. Season 2 ends with the couple getting married.
Charlotte introduces Ralph Starling (Cai Brigden), a local farmer from her hometown of Willingdon, to the Parkers and Georgiana at the wedding reception.
Is There Going to Be the Third Season of Sanditon?
Yes! In fact, production on Sanditon Season 3 has already come to a conclusion. That means it has already been filmed and will almost certainly air on PBS’s Masterpiece series.

Who Will Cast in Sanditon Season 3?
The second season of Sanditon featured the introduction of a number of new characters in addition to the show’s returning main cast members.
Augusta Markham (Eloise Webb) and Leo Colbourne (Flora Mitchell) were placed under the care of Charlotte, played by Rose Williams, at the beginning of season two. Charlotte also became acquainted with their guardian, Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes), who will most likely return for the third season of the show.
It is currently unknown whether or not Colonel Francis Lennox (Tom Weston-Jones) and Alison’s new husband Captain Declan Fraser (Frank Blake) will return for the third season of Alias Grace.

What Can We Expect From Sanditon Season 3 Plot?
The second season of Sanditon ended on a cliffhanger: Charlotte returned home to Willingdon, Sussex, and became engaged to a local man she didn’t love after a misunderstanding with her true love interest, the widower Alexander Colbourne, caused by a misunderstanding with her true love interest.
The third and final season will most likely begin with Charlotte in the days leading up to her wedding, with Colbourne possibly confessing his feelings for her at the last minute as well.
Additionally, it’s likely that we’ll be following heiress Georgiana Lamb as she continues her search for true love – all while weeding out her numerous fortune-hunter suitors…
