This year we are going to celebrate India’s 72th Republic Day. In India every year on the 26th of January we celebrate Republic Day with great prosperity. The most magnificent thing about this day is The Parades at New Delhi, Rajpath which comprises the Indian National Army. The most common practice on this day is the National Flag hoisting ceremony in various parts of the country.
Significance of Republic Day
On 26th November 1949 The Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly. The Constitution of India came into effect on January 26, 1950, and this was the final step that completed India’s transition to becoming an independent republic, which is governed by a democratic government system.
By whom is the constitution of Indian was Written?
On Twenty Nine(29) August 1947, under the chairmanship of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar the Constituent Assembly of India set up a drafting committee to prepare a Draft Constitution for India. After a long discussion on the draft Constitution, the Assembly moved and disposed of Two thousand four hundred seventy-three (2,473) amendments out of a total of Seven thousand six hundred thirty-five (7,635) tabled amendments.

Why 26th January was chosen to celebrate Republic Day?
26th January was chosen to celebrate Republic Day because, on this day in 1930, the National Congress proclaimed Purana Swaraj, which is the declaration of India’s independence form of colonial rule.

This is a day to give honor to the Constitution of the republic India. Republic Day is celebrated all over India with great prosperity and pride. National flag hoisting in every school and college is the most common event followed by cultural events which shows the struggles of Indian freedom fighters is held.
Republic Day parade
In New Delhi, at India Gate, the National is hosted by The President of India. After the flag hoisting ceremony, the grand Parade takes place at Rajpath, New Delhi. The parade is presided by the Commander in Chief of the India Armed forces, who the President of India.
The main highlight of the evening is the military power showcasing, showing the diversity in India’s culture, giving tribute to the veer shaheeds of the Indian Armed Forces.
Paramvir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, and Vir Chakra awards are presented to the brave soldiers of Indian and to the family members of those soldiers who gave their lives protecting the nation. Even the common citizens of India who displayed great courage or have done something for the betterment of the country in times of misfortunes and adversity are conferred awards.
The winners of the Shaury Chakra award salute the President in army jeeps. This is followed by the power showcase of the armed forces of India. The parade ends with the flypast of the Indian Air Force fighter jets.

You have to do pre-booking the parade tickets, you cannot buy the tickets on 26th January. You can buy the Republic Day parade tickets from the sales counter from North Block Roundabout, Red Fort, Parliament House, Sena Bhavan, and other places.
