You know what I mean, Psych- o's! Following the successful Peacock-exclusive release of its second made-for-TV feature, “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home,” NBC/Peacock announced that a third film will continue the hit dramedy's ongoing series of reunion movies. “Psych 3: This is Gus” is about to flood your life with buttery deliciousness.
In the mid-2000s, “Psych” was a runaway smash for the USA Network. It was part of the network's roster of popular primetime comedy/dramas debuted at the same time, and it centred on Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez), a rogue who poses as a psychic to Santa Barbara's police chief (Kristen Nelson) after he becomes embroiled in a murder case. When his cop dad's (Corbin Bernsen) razor-sharp memory and observational abilities help him solve the murder, he soon finds himself working directly with the cops, including the suspicious Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and rookie Juliet O'Hara (Maggie Lawson) as a consultant.
Shawn and his closest buddy Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) form a private detective firm called “Psych” and go on to become professional amateur investigators. The programme generated eight seasons, a popular musical TV movie, hundreds of hidden pineapples, and two post-finale reunion movies, all of which were well welcomed by the show's devoted fans.
Psych 2 Ending Explanation
Shawn discovered a positive pregnancy test in Jules' (Maggie Lawson) vehicle, which was the film's only significant twist. Things were moving a bit too rapidly for Shawn, considering they'd just been married in the first film, which drove him into a comedic tailspin.
Shawn eventually accepted that he was about to become a father and appeared to be up to the responsibility, but it turned out that he was exempt. The positive test he discovered belonged to Selene (Jazmyn Simon), who was exposed in the middle of a fight with a gun-wielding Russian villain. Gus, understandably, passed out as soon as he learned the news.
Lassiter's flirtatious nurse, Dolores, revealed out to be the real evil who'd been puppeting said Russian (Sarah Chalke). Her strategy was excellent, but that didn't mean we were cool with it when she tried to kill Lassier after she'd been discovered. Lassie, on the other hand, is a tough cookie, and he got the better of her owing to an encouraging hallucination from his father (Joel McHale).
Psych: Lassie Come Home, unlike the previous Psych film, did not finish on a crazy cliffhanger starring John Cena, which we were a little bummed about, but that doesn't mean the tale is done! Steve Franks, the show's creator, originally intended to make six Psych films, so we might be seeing sequels for years to come!
Psych 3 Plot
Shawn and his closest buddy Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) form a private detective firm called “Psych” and go on to become professional amateur investigators. The program generated eight seasons, a popular musical TV movie, hundreds of hidden pineapples, and two post-finale reunion movies, all of which were well welcomed by the show's devoted fans.
Carlton Lassiter is dealing with “the future of his profession,” according to a subplot referenced in that logline. Lassiter was wounded in the line of duty in Psych 2 and suffered a stroke, which left him largely crippled and confined to a rehabilitation center. Timothy Omundson's real-life experience with stroke survival will very certainly match his recovery. Because Lassiter is so self-assured and career-focused, it will definitely be a compelling narrative point.
Will Shawn and Gus be able to finally settle into domestic bliss in their next-door neighbours' residences, which share a swimming pool and a river that runs through both living rooms? Will Pluto reclaim its status as a planet? You can always catch up on the remainder of the series before we find out.

There's no news on whether Kurt Fuller, who played the deliciously weird coroner Woody Strode, or Sage Brocklebank, who played the charmingly dumb Buzz McNab, will return for this epic. There's also no word on whether we'll see Carlton's wife, Marlowe (Kristy Swanson), or Jimmi Simpson's Mary Lightly, who continues reappearing in the show's film series despite being deceased since Season 4's “Mr. Yin Presents…” episode.
Psych 2 included Joel McHale as Carlton's father and Sarah Chalke as Nurse Dolores, but no more additions to the franchise's amazing roster of guest actors have been revealed.
Psych 3 Release date
According to Deadline, filming on the film will begin in Vancouver this summer. If all goes according to plan, Peacock will publish “Psych 3” in either the winter of 2021 or the summer of 2022, based on the lead time required for the last Psych movies.
James Roday Rodriguez plays Garry Mendez in the ABC drama “A Million Little Things,” which was just renewed for a fourth season. According to Variety, Dulé Hill will play patriarch Bill Williams in a single-camera remake of “The Wonder Years,” which was recently picked up by ABC for the fall season. Thankfully, the filming of both series will not interfere with the production of the forthcoming “Psych” sequel. Hill and Roday Rodriguez will also co-executive produce the film.
