Perez wins the tournament by three shots over John Merrick, securing the victory with a closing eagle on the par-5 18th hole from 200 yards to 3 feet for his maiden tour victory. Perez Golf Player has also had firsthand experience with a different kind of title. He has been quite close to the Philadelphia Phillies for numerous years as a neighbour of baseball player Pat Burrell.

He claimed in a January 2010 interview, “I was a member of that World Series-winning team in 2008 because I knew all of the guys, I had a locker there, and I would see them all the time. I’d be rooting for them as if I were a member of the squad.”He said yes when asked if he had the locker during spring training “No, I’m referring to the entire situation.

I’d hit balls with Jimmy Rollins, walk out on the field and play catch, whatever it was that I wanted to do. For that year, I pretended to be a member of their team.” When Burrell signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as a free agent following the 2008 season, Perez said the news was “worse than me being hurt.”

Following shoulder surgery, Perez Golf Player missed the most of the 2015–16 golf season. At the 2016 OHL Classic in Mayakoba, he won for the first time since 2009. Also, he was the first golfer to win a PGA Tour tournament while on a Medical Extension since Harrison Frazar (2011 St. Jude Classic). In 2017, Perez won the CIMB Classic.
