Nikki Finke, a prominent blogger, journalist, publisher, and author, passed suddenly on October 9 at the age of 68. Jay Penske, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Penske Media Corporation, paid respect to her and stated.

The family of Nikki Finke announced that she died of a protracted illness. It is unknown whether she had any additional health problems, and her medical history is unknown.
Who was Nikki Finke?
She was raised at Sands Point, Nassau County, New York, where she was born on December 16, 1953, and graduated from Wellesley College.
Finke began his career at the office of New York congressman Ed Koch in Washington, D.C. She later joined the Associated Press and covered Koch’s 1977 campaign for mayor of New York City. She soon began working at the foreign desk of the Associated Press in New York City, Baltimore, Boston, Moscow, and London.
She was a correspondent for Newsweek in Washington and Los Angeles, as well as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times. She served as the West Coast Editor for The New York Observer and New York and has contributed to the Hollywood business section. She also contributed to periodicals such as The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Premiere, Vanity Fair, and The Washington Post.
Nikki Finke wrote a weekly column for LA Weekly titled Deadline Hollywood from June 2002 to June 2009, and she launched the Deadline blog in March 2006. During the Writers Guild of America strike of 2007, Deadline’s readership soared.
In 2009, Nikki purportedly sold her blog to Jay Penske‘s Mail.com Media Corp for $14 million. Deadline In November 2013, Hollywood then announced Nikki’s departure.
In May 2016, on the occasion of Deadline Hollywood’s tenth anniversary, the website published Nikki’s recollection of her experience creating the column. It reported that in 2006 when she created her website, She needed a quicker way to convey breaking entertainment news than the weekly newspaper column, so she paid $14 for the URL.
Then, in June 2014 and August 2015, she founded NikkiFinke.com and HollywoodDementia.com, respectively. The pieces published on the latter site were authored by her and other industry insiders.
Winners of the Alternative Weekly Awards for Media Reporting/Criticism, Circulation >50,000 were Nikki Finke’s LA Weekly pieces. Nikki got the Southern California Journalism Award for Best Entertainment Journalist in 2007 from the Los Angeles Press Club.
The memorial for Nikki will be a private ceremony. Her nieces Sarah Greenhill and Diana Leighton, as well as her sister Terry Finke Dreyfus and brother-in-law James, survive her.
