Nicolas Cage Says Nothing After His Son is Arrested for Violating His Mother
After the arrest of his son Weston for allegedly abusing his mother, Nicolas Cage is silent as of yet.
Weeks after his mother Christina Fulton was shown with serious bruising during an altercation during an alleged mental health crisis, Weston was reportedly taken into prison in Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to The U.S. Sun.
Nicolas Supposedly Posted the Bail of His Son
Weston posted a $150,000 bond and was set free at roughly ten in the morning. It’s thought that Nicolas Cage, Weston’s father, posted him bail.
“An LAPD spokesperson confirmed that Weston Cage Coppola was arrested today for assault with a deadly weapon by officers from the LAPD’s 77th Division.”
A source close to the Cage family told the publication, “Although the family expected this to happen, it is still a significant shock.”
They assert that an altercation between Weston and his mother in April—possibly when she sustained the facial bruises—is connected to the young man’s detention. In a statement at the time, Christine described the circumstances as “horrific.” She claimed that she was similarly caught off guard.
Allegedly, in April, Weston Attacked His Mother
“Weston and I had no argument prior to the incident,” she stated in a letter. “On Sunday, April 28, a few of Weston’s closest friends contacted me to ask for help as they were witnessing a mental health crisis with Weston.”
Christine insisted that she is helping her son through the ordeal despite the wounds she received. Her current situation is unknown, as is the possibility that she will file charges in connection with Weston’s earlier this week arrest.
“Upon arriving, I found my son visibly experiencing a mental health crisis, which turned into a traumatic ordeal,” her statement continued. “I have always been committed to supporting my son through his mental health challenges. I am doing everything possible to ensure he receives ongoing assistance.”
Police said that prior to the alleged assault, Weston and his mother got into a verbal fight that resulted in her getting bruises. At the time of the occurrence, a battery complaint was submitted.
Weston has previously been afoul of the law before his most recent arrest. He was detained in 2017 on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. Before slamming into a tree, Weston looked to have been driving under the influence at the time, striking many mailboxes, parked automobiles, and signs. He was charged with DUI after a hospital examination, and he was later released on a $30,000 bail.
Nicolas Cage and actress Christina Fulton are parents to a kid named Weston. Weston was born on December 26, 1990, as a result of the couple’s brief romance in the late 1980s; they were never married. Co-parenting has been difficult throughout the years, especially in light of Weston’s well-publicized challenges with mental health and legal matters. Nicolas and Christina, despite their differences, have stated that they will help their kid get through his challenges.
Regarding the recent arrest of his kid, Cage has not made a public statement.
