THE SUMMER HIKARU DIED (Season 1)

The acclaimed manga by Mokumokuren is finally getting its anime adaptation, which will be available exclusively on Netflix outside Japan in 2025.

Synopsis: Two best friends, Yoshiki and Hikaru, grow up together in a rural Japanese village. Their bond is broken when Hikaru returns from the mountains changed, as something has taken over his body, memories, and feelings, unraveling everything they know.


LEVIATHAN (Season 1)

Studio: Qubic Pictures
Netflix Release Date: July 10th, 2025

From the creators of Beastars, Leviathan is an anime adaptation of Scott Westerfeld and Keith Thompson’s novel. Set in 1914 on the brink of war, a fugitive prince and a disguised girl meet aboard the bioengineered airship HMS Leviathan, altering history.


TOUGEN ANKI

Studio: Akita Shoten
Netflix Release Date: July 11th, 2025

Releasing weekly on Netflix in select regions alongside other platforms like Crunchyroll, Tougen Anki (also known as Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise) is based on Yura Urushibara’s manga. It follows Shiki, who witnesses his father’s death and discovers his demon heritage, becoming central to a secret war.


SAKAMOTO DAYS (Season 1)

Netflix Release Date: July 14th, 2025

The entertaining adaptation of Sakamoto Days returns for a second cour. With Dan Da Dan, Sakamoto Days, and ongoing One Piece episodes, July promises to be a packed month for anime on Netflix.


MY MELODY & KUROMI (Season 1)

Studio: Toruku
Netflix Release Date: July 24th, 2025

To celebrate My Melody’s 50th anniversary, a charming stop-motion series from WIT Studio’s Toruku will be released exclusively on Netflix. In Mariland, My Melody opens a cake shop and discovers a mysterious heart in the forest, triggering strange events. Across the street, Kuromi’s sweets shop is empty, leading her to investigate the secret behind My Melody’s cakes. Their rivalry and preparations for a sweets contest judged by pastry chef Pistachio set the stage for an incident threatening all of Mariland. Based on Sanrio characters, the series is directed by Tomoki Misato with a screenplay by Shuko Nemoto, featuring the theme song “Kawaii (Prod. Gen Hoshino)” by LE SSERAFIM.


POKÉMON CONCIERGE (Season 2)

This slice-of-life Pokémon series has been highly anticipated by casual and longtime fans alike. One of Netflix’s most adorable shows, more episodes have been confirmed for release soon.


RANMA 1/2 (Season 2)

Netflix Release Date: October 2025

Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga was previously adapted into an anime, but in 2024, Netflix released a refreshed version exclusively. The story follows Akane Tendo and her fiancé Ranma Saotome, a martial arts prodigy who transforms into a girl when touched by cold water.


TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL (Season 1)

Splinter Cell Anime Coming To Netflix

As one of the most popular video game franchises of the 2000s, it is surprising that Splinter Cell has never had an adaptation until now. Fans have long awaited a new game, but the upcoming anime adaptation may satisfy their appetite. At Geeked Week 2024, the first teaser trailer was revealed, with Liev Schreiber confirmed as the voice of Sam Fisher.

The TOEI anime adaptation of One Piece has been ongoing for 25 years. While it is celebrated as one of the greatest anime and manga stories, the TOEI version has been criticized for pacing issues. The new One Piece remake aims to address these problems.

Lady Napoleon Anime Coming To Netflix

Created by Shin Kibayashi of Bloody Manga, Lady Napoleon is a new original anime series for Netflix. The story follows Sophie, a descendant of Napoleon who leads the Lady Napoleon organization. Alongside Butler, a versatile butler, and Guy, a martial arts master, Sophie travels the world seeking three sacred weapons once owned by Napoleon, aiming for world domination.


CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS (Season 2)

A major surprise at Geeked Week 2024 was the announcement of a new Cyberpunk anime. At Anime Expo 2025, CD Projekt Red and Netflix confirmed it will be a second season of Edgerunners, featuring a new story and characters set in Night City. This standalone 10-episode series explores themes of redemption and revenge in a city overwhelmed by spectacle and violence.

Directed by Kai Ikarashi, with lead character designs by Kanno Ichigo, and key collaborators Masahiko Otsuka and Bartosz Sztybor returning as showrunner, writer, and producer.


BRZRKR (Season 1)

Created by Keanu Reeves, BRZRKR is a twelve-part limited comic series from BOOM! Studios. It centers on an immortal warrior known as Berserker, who has fought across centuries.


FAR CRY (Season 1)

Ubisoft is expanding its franchise universes by allowing companies like Netflix to produce anime adaptations. With diverse countries and characters, many adaptations are possible.
