Narcos: Mexico Season 4 Release Date, a Renewed Cast, and More.
The majority of people have already binge-watched Narcos: Mexico’s third season and are eager to see more of this crime drama television series. So, naturally, we’ll tell you all you need to know about Narcos: Mexico season 4 right now.
Narcos: Mexico was released in November 2018 to positive reviews from both fans and reviewers. Narcos: Mexico has a 90 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating, with an 81 percent audience rating. This is unsurprising given how captivating the crime drama is. The characters have a lot of depth. It’s a gritty crime drama, and these types of shows are never boring. Did we really expect anything less from the Narcos franchise than a fantastic show?
Carlo Bernard, the show’s co-creator, explained why the show was coming to an end.
“I envisioned this season as the original narrative of the contemporary world,” he explained. “For me, it felt like building the show up to the point where, for better or worse, we now recognize it as a good place to end it made logical. The show has been able to pull back the curtain and show you how it all started and progressed.
“That isn’t to imply that other stories will not be compelling in the future. But, conceptually and narratively, halting at the point when we had given the world we now live in made sense to me. We never, ever want to say the same thing twice.”
Of course, the Narcos: Mexico plot began with the original Narcos series, which aired for three seasons in Colombia from 2015 to 2017. In place of a fourth season, a new original series, Narcos: Mexico, premiered in 2018, focusing on the growth of Mexico’s illegal drug trade.

The series followed DEA agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Pea) as he investigated the Guadalajara Cartel, led by Miguel ngel Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna), and also featured Scoot McNairy as DEA agent Walt Breslin, and was set in the 1980s and 1990s.
Gallardo was imprisoned by the conclusion of season two, allowing the third – and last – season to focus on the bosses who stepped up to fill his shoes.
Bernard discussed the prospect of additional Narcos in an interview with Collider. “Honestly, there aren’t any plans; this is sort of the end of the journey, at least for the time being,” he remarked. “There’s nothing in the works right now, but the drug trade isn’t going away, so there’s always the prospect of more iterations.
“For the time being, this is it… We had the impression that we were telling a unified story… As a result, season three in Mexico felt like a good spot to wrap things out.”
Meanwhile, the Narcos team – including Bernard and executive producer Eric Newman – are working on a six-episode limited series starring Sofia Vergara from Modern Family on Colombian drug queen Griselda Blanco.

Will there be a fourth season of Narcos: Mexico?
Unfortunately, we’ve arrived with awful news. Narcos: Mexico will not have a fourth season. When Netflix renewed the crime drama series for a third season, they didn’t say whether it would be the series’ final season. However, it was confirmed in September 2021 that Narcos: Mexico’s third season would be the final chapter.
We’re not surprised at all if we’re being honest. Narcos had three seasons, so it makes it reasonable that its sibling show would have the same number of seasons. Both Netflix original series has a similar premise, therefore if Narcos could tell a whole story in three seasons, Narcos: Mexico could do the same in three seasons. So don’t hold your breath for a fourth season.
However, keep an eye out for a forthcoming limited series from the same creative team that brought you Narcos. The series is called Griselda, and we’re confident you’ll be as enthralled as we are when it debuts.
Narcos: Mexico Season 4 Cast:
There will be no official season 4 cast because Narcos: Mexico will not be returning for a fourth season.
Season 4 of Narcos: Mexico Synopsis:
As previously stated, there are no plans for a fourth season, hence there is no official summary. Despite the fact that we won’t be seeing another installment of the Narcos franchise anytime soon, we believe there’s a decent chance we’ll see a new spinoff in the future.
There are still so many drug-related stories to be shared. Perhaps the new series will focus on a different country’s drug trafficking. But we’ll have to wait and see what Netflix and the Narcos creators decide. So make sure to keep an eye out for more Narcos news and coverage!
