One of the most successful captains of Indian cricket has announced his retirement from International Cricket on Saturday 15th August 2020. He shared a post declaring his retirement on his Instagram account. You can check his Instagram post here-

Fans are upset and may not see him play again in the Indian Blue Jersey, but he will be seen in his yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni is the only captain who has won three ICC trophies- T20 World Cup in 2007, 50-over World Cup in 2011, and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. The last match he played in the Blue jersey for the Indian team was the semifinal of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup against New Zealand. 

The defending champions Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has shared a tribute to MS Dhoni in his twitter account. He reminded Dhoni for the upcoming IPL contest. He said that the presence of Dhoni in and around cricket was massive and he is one of the most influential men in the history of Indian cricket.

He added that Dhoni was a man with a vision and a master in knowing how to build a team. He said that Dhoni will be missed in blue but we have him in yellow
