More of “Sisterwives” Star Kody Brown’s Children Distance Themselves From Him Due to Estrangement

A Sister Wives actress is legally moving away, putting more space between herself and her kids and Kody Brown.
Later this month, Mykelti Brown and her husband Tony Padron will make a significant shift from Utah to North Carolina. The Brown Family has undergone yet another major change as they continue to move away from their Southwest roots and settle in the Tar Heel State.
Notably, Mykelti’s sister Maddie Brush has already made her home in North Carolina, and Tony has revealed that their mother Janelle Brown may have moved east as well.
Reasons Behind Mykelti Brown’s Moving
Mykelti recently discussed their reasons for moving during a live session on her YouTube channel. She clarified that the relocation is a calculated move meant to keep their family’s past disputes at bay while they concentrate on their own lives and future goals.
“We use it as a means of removing ourselves from the drama,” Mykelti remarked. “And really just figure out what we want to do with our kids and our own lives.”
Mykelti has supported her mother Christine’s decision to leave Kody years ago, even though she is one of the few Brown children who still keeps in touch with her father, Kody Brown, and his wife, Robyn.
Mykelti revealed on her YouTube channel that one of the reasons they relocated was to give Christine a secure place to live while she and Kody were apart.
“We moved to Lehi for a variety of reasons, including helping my mom move away from Kody, have a home base, and have kids nearby so she had a support system,” the woman said. She now possesses all of that. She has the love of her life and her network of support. She’s good; she has folks. She doesn’t require my hand holding hers.
Mykelti also mentioned wanting freedom and the ability to forge their own route free from parental expectations. She said, “And I’ve never really wanted to live really close to family.” “I’ve always wanted the freedom to pursue my own interests, be self-sufficient, and live my life somewhat as I see fit.”
Kody’s Distance From His Children Is Growing
Over time, Kody has experienced growing distance from his kids. The 2010 TLC television series Sister women chronicles Kody’s life as he manages his four women and their collective 18 children in a polygamous marriage.
Even though the show emphasizes the importance of family harmony, Kody and his children no longer get along for a variety of reasons. His several marriages caused a great deal of stress, and the way he splits his time between his wives made his kids feel neglected.
Discord has also been exacerbated by Kody’s inflexible views and judgments regarding family issues, such as how he resolves disputes and whether to continue living a polygamous lifestyle. Family tensions have increased as a result of multiple women leaving, notably Christine, who split from Kody in 2021, and Janelle, who declared her separation in 2022.
