Monsters Inc 3 – When Can It Release?

Mike and Sulley, the monster combo who altered the way we thought monsters worked, was introduced to us by Pixar in 2001. It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that our childhood has never been the same since. ‘Monsters, Inc.’ is a delightfully delectable animated film that has all the proper elements.

It not only features beautiful animation, but it also has a lot of heart, a lot of laughs, and some lovely lessons about friendship and children. All of this will undoubtedly enchant the child in you. It was also created before ‘Cars,’ when Pixar was turning out fantastic animation after brilliant animation. And in Pixar’s goldmine, ‘Monsters Inc.’ is nothing short of gold.

The video takes an old story about creatures under our beds and behind our curtains and turns it on its head, pushing our imagination in directions we didn’t know were possible. Despite the fact that we never discover what happens to Mike, Sulley, and Boo after they say their goodbyes, Pixar provided us with a prequel we didn’t realize we needed.

Monsters University takes us back to a period when Mike and Sulley were merely freshmen (fresh monsters?) at college, figuring out what they wanted to do with their lives. Despite the fact that the picture received less critical acclaim, it was a monetary triumph.

We haven’t seen Sulley and Mike since ‘Monsters University about seven years ago, and we’re not sure when we’ll see them again. It seems less probable that we will see a sequel to Pixar’s ‘Monsters’ prequel. However, there’s a better chance that we’ll see them all again in Monsters Inc 3 a sequel to the original ‘Monsters, Inc.,’ though it’ll be a lengthy wait. Everything we know about it is listed below.

Monsters, Inc. 3 What Could the Plot Be About?

‘Monsters, Inc.’ introduces us to the Monstropolis monster realm, which is propelled by children’s screams. Sulley (a scarer) and other monsters visit the human realm at night to gather these screams. However, Sully and Mike’s world is turned upside down when Boo, a young girl, enters Monstropolis by accident. Sully and Mike then embark on an expedition to hide Boo from the authorities and find a method to return her to the human world.

The three create an unexpected relationship in the process. The monster team soon discovers that not everything they were taught about humans is correct. Children’s laughter has a lot more energy than their screaming, the two discover. Sully takes over as the CEO of Monsters, Inc for a short period before reconciling with Boo for the final time in the film.

‘Monsters University is Pixar’s only prequel to date, and it delves into the backstories of Sully and Mike. It depicts a moment before the two were closest friends when they were just roommates attempting to fit in, get accepted into the famous fraternity Roar Omega Roar, and realize their aspirations of becoming successful scarers.

However, things do not go as planned, and the two form a band with a ragtag group of misfits to compete in the “Scare Games.” The film concludes with the two working for Monsters, Inc, first in the mailroom and then on the scaring team.

If Pixar does decide to make a sequel to ‘Monsters University,’ it could potentially go into great detail about the duo’s early days in Monsters, Inc. What’s more likely is that a long-awaited Monsters Inc 3 will be released. Fortunately for us, director and filmmaker Pete Docter have plans for a sequel set in the adult world of Boo.

“We purposefully went with a prequel for ‘Monsters University because we didn’t want to answer some of the issues about what happens to Boo, and how does she grow up, and stuff like that,” Docter said in an interview with EW. It would have to be extremely captivating, which is hoped to be the standard for all of our sequels.”
There’s a chance that, if a sequel is made, it will focus on an adult Boo, following in the lines of ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ and, in many respects, another Pixar classic, ‘Toy Story 3’. “Part of that notion was like a Peter Pan-type scenario,” Docter continued, “where Wendy had been visited by Peter Pan as a child and had sort of forgotten who he was.”

Monsters Inc. 2/monsters University Who Can Be in the Cast?

The original actors will almost probably return in the Monsters Inc 3, whether it’s a sequel to ‘Monsters University or the original picture. Billy Crystal plays Mike Wazowski, John Goodman plays James P. Sullivan, and Steve Buscemi plays Randall Bogg in both films. Roz is played by Bob Peterson, and the Abominable Snowman is played by John Ratzenberger.

These performers would undoubtedly reprise their roles as the original characters in a sequel to the franchise. Other performers such as Jennifer Tilly, Nathan Fillion, and Joel Murray could appear in the sequel, depending on whether it is a prequel or an original. New characters will undoubtedly be introduced, including more monsters and, of course, an adult Boo.

Who Could Be Behind It in Monsters University 2?

If and when a sequel is made, Pixar will undoubtedly be involved. Since ‘Monsters, Inc.’ was his directorial debut, and he also produced the prequel, we may expect Pete Docter to be a member of the creative team. He’s also a fan of the franchise and has remarked about the film’s potential premise.

After delivering ‘Toy Story 4′, ‘Incredibles 2’, and ‘Finding Dory’ in the last few years, Docter, who is also the chief creative officer of Pixar, has made quite clear that the animation studios will only be working on original tales for a long now.

When Will Monsters University 2 and Monsters, Inc. 3 Be Released?

As I previously stated, Pixar is now devoted to producing original content and has a number of projects in the works. ‘Onward’ and ‘Soul,’ which will be released in 2020, as well as three more untitled projects expected in 2021-2022, are among them. So, if Pixar decides to return to the Monsters Inc 3, it won’t be until 2023 or later.

Regardless matter how long it takes, the sequel seems more plausible now that Pixar and Disney are working on a spin-off TV series called ‘Monsters at Work,’ which will feature the original cast. The series is set six months after the events of the original Monsters, Inc. film and will launch on Disney+ this year.
