Jeff Rake (The Mysteries of Laura) produced Manifest, which follows the passengers of Montego Air Flight 828, a commercial airplane that reappears five years after going missing, yet the passengers and crew have not aged. As the world continued without them, they attempted to reintegrate into society, but soon began hearing voices and having visions of future events, exposing another aspect of their mystery.
The focus of the three seasons of Manifest has been on gaining a deeper understanding of these extraordinary occurrences and their impact on the passengers of Flight 828.
Season 3 concluded with many questions unanswered. This included Grace, Ben’s wife, being murdered by Angelina, who also kidnaps their child; Cal disappearing after touching the plane’s tail fin and then returning five years older and claiming he knows what she must do; and the flight’s captain reappearing in the cockpit only to vanish again within seconds and take the plane’s remains with him.
Ben is still depressed two years after the death of his wife and the abduction of his child, who remains missing. In the meantime, Cal must determine what happened to him and how it affects the grand mystery, despite the fact that he still feels and looks like a child. The final season is also expected to reveal more about what happened to the passengers during the turbulent period and why they have been experiencing “callings” since then.
