Man of Steel 2 Release Date: When Could Man of Steel 2 Be Released?
It’s been almost 10 years since Cavill made his first appearance as Superman in Zack Snyder’s controversial Man of Steel. He came back in Batman v. Superman, and in Joss Whedon’s Justice League, he had a blurry, nightmare-like face.
Snyder fixed the problems with the theatrical version of Justice League by putting Henry Cavill in the black suit and giving him the second chance he deserved.
After Batgirl was cancelled and he had a small part in Black Adam, it seemed like Cavill was back… Here’s what we know about Man of Steel 2.
When Will Man of Steel 2 Come Out?
The release date for Man of Steel 2 doesn’t exist because it’s no longer going to happen. After saying in October 2022 that he would be back as Superman, Henry Cavill said on December 15 that he would not be coming back after all.
This change is the result of James Gunn’s shake-up of the DCU, and it seems to go along with his desire to start over. But just because Henry Cavill is being dropped (again) and there won’t be a Man of Steel 2 doesn’t mean there won’t be another superhero movie.
As a consolation prize, Gunn wrote the script for Superman Legacy, a new movie about the Man of Steel that will get his DCU off to a good start. Cavill won’t be in it, but the last son of Krypton has a good future.

Who Will Be Cast in Man of Steel 2?
If there were to be a Man of Steel 2, the latest word from Hollywood is that Warner Bros. wants Henry Cavill back in the cape, not a new actor as had been said before.
If Cavill signs on, we could see other important characters from his run come back, like Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
What Will Happen in Man of Steel 2?
At the time of writing, there were no official plot details about Man of Steel 2. In an interview last year with Collider, Cavill said, “I thought Man of Steel was a great way to start the story of Superman. It gave him a lot of room to grow past that and become the hero we know.
“Batman v. Superman took a hard turn in a darker direction, and it was told from Batman’s point of view, so it didn’t really show the parts of Superman that I was very eager to show. The Snyder Cut of Justice League definitely focused more on that.
“I had a bit more of a gentle tone to it, but I would love to play the Superman we all know and love from the comics, as a continuation of his development and we see the hero. That would be a lot of fun for me because it would give me a chance to tell a lot of interesting stories.

“It’s just a matter of finding the right hooks for a character as good and idealistic as Superman. There are great chances to explore what it’s like to be him and the struggles that come with that. How hard is it on you when you have to save everyone? That could be an interesting line to take.”
