Maika the Girl From Another Galaxy: When It Will Be Released?

Stranded alien girl searching for her long-lost companion. The U.S. trailer for Maika: The Girl from Another Galaxy, a cheesy Vietnamese sci-fi kids film, has been released by Well Go USA. The film will be released in theatres in June. The film had its world premiere earlier this year in the Kids section of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

Hung, an 8-year-old boy from the planet Maika, is reunited with an extraterrestrial girl who has been looking for her lost buddy after a meteor hits the planet. Hung is helped by the alien girl to meet new acquaintances and mend a damaged heart. However, danger can be found in the most unexpected places.

As a team, they go on a perilous journey to aid Maika in returning home and evading a gang of local outlaws. Phu Truong Lai, Diep Anh Chu, Tin Tin, Ngoc Tuong, and Kim Nha feature in the light-hearted film. Even though it’s stupid and apparent, I saw a peculiar fascination with this film at Sundance and enjoyed it (my review). It’s geared toward children, although some adults could find it entertaining.

What Is the Plot of the Story?

Maika The Girl from Another Galaxy

While grieving the loss of his mother and best friend, a little kid finds spaceship wreckage and meets a new buddy with incredible talents (although she does need a little help with her earthly social skills). While battling the baddies and helping Maika find her way back home, they embark on a crazy, fun-filled adventure together.

Hung, an 8-year-old boy, meets Maika, an alien girl hunting for her missing buddy when a meteor falls on Earth. Hung makes new acquaintances and heals a broken heart thanks to the alien’s assistance. However, danger lurks around every corner. It is possible that when the aliens arrive, they will use the “Take me to your leader” routine. However, if they’re still young enough, they might be more interested in comparing the farts each other.

Maika: The Girl from Another Galaxy, a Vietnam-based children’s fiction, is hands-down the best imitation of E.T. in a long time.

Maika The Girl from Another Galaxy

After her jellyfish-shaped spaceship crash lands, an alien toddler (Chu Diep Anh) who is magically enhanced meets a lonely little boy, Hung (Lai Trung Phù). As a result, their friendship is challenged by greedy and power-hungry adults and their hired goons. Hung must work with his rich and spoiled adversary to defeat the villains, save the girl, and return her to her home (Tin Tin).

Regardless of the plot and story beats of the Slovak TV series that this is inspired by (glimpsed in the movie), writer-director Ham Tram (Bitcoin Heist) knows that the gold here is in tried and authentic characters, alien fish-out-of-water jokes, and grownups as obstacles that can only be overcome with kiddie hijinks.

A tinkerer who can’t make ends meet repairing people’s cell phones is introduced to Hung and his still-grieving widowed dad (Ngc Tung). Beo (Tin Tin), an affluent youngster who lives in a nearby high-rise, enjoys nothing more than destroying Hung’s “Comet” camera plane with his sophisticated camera drone. Hung is an obsessive model aeroplane flyer.
